Ok think about it in gta 4 when you committed a crime you only had to pay a fee, but what if in gta v you have to actually go to jail. Think about it!! It's actually a interesting idea. I mean in skyrim if you committed a crime you went to jail, and you could walk around the jail to and you could even escape.

Ok so my point is why not have jails and Pennitentaries in gta v. Also when you go to these jails you should also be able to move around in them and do normal jail activities.

I hope they put this feature in gta V.

Let me know what you think. Do you think when you committ a crime will you actually go to jail and will you be able to move around in it like skyrim, or do you think there is no way it could happen?

The difference between GTA and an Elder Scrolls game is that in GTA you have to do illegal stuff, all the time, while in Elder Scrolls games it's a choice with greater weight and consequence. If I have to go through the stuff I do in Oblivion or Skyrim every time I commit a crime and get caught in GTA, it would get pretty f*cking annoying. I mean, a series of missions set in prison would be fine, I wouldn't mind, but it shouldn't happen every time you get busted.

I would love being able to escape from jail without losing any money... that would add so much replay value.. you could even steal weapons from the guard's armory!

If Rockstar implemented this I am sure they would do so that would make it awesome, and also keep it from being really annoying to those that don't want it.

Interesting idea. I like the realism factor. It would make police chases alot more intense if you know you're going to jail if you're caught. I'm not sure how it could work with check point missions. It would be frustrating to complete the first stages of a mission and then get put in jail, requiring you to start the mission all over again when you get out. It would also be a pain for the completists who like to push through the storyline. Maybe if it was a very short visit where you had to do a mission to get out, like bash or kill someone for the guards or something.

A few missions inside a prison could be awesome to do. I don't like the idea when police catch you that you get taken to prison. I'd rather be taken to the nearest police station and just get bail.

If I'm correct a penitentiary is for people who committed murder and extreme crimes. The whole idea of a penitentiary is for them to stay there in seclusion for 50 years. To make it realistic, when you escape prison there would be a major manhunt to try and catch you... and I just don't want that.

Jail can stay right the hell in mafia II where it f*cking belongs. There is no way I'm serving a full prison sentence every time I run over 1 guy. I hated every moment of chapter 6 in mafia II, and I'm not going back. Saints Row 2 got it right, in that the only time you spent in jail was breaking out of the f*cking thing and into the fun parts of the game.

Maybe a mission where you break out of jail immediately when you get caught, but none of this serving a sentence every time you break a law crap.

I don't like the idea of going to jail after getting caught, but there has to be consequences. I know people are afraid of it, but it has to be done. It will make running away from the police more thrilling. I have faith that Rockstar can find a way without making it annoying.

GTAV needs a better enemy.

GTAV has to have a feared enemy, and since we're the bad guys, the 'good guys' have to be that enemy.

Let me put it like this, though. Remember free run mode in Need For Speed hot pursuit 2? Those chases were thrilling despite a lack of consequences. You know why? Because the police seemed like real police. They used road blocks, they used pursuit maneuvers, they reported in every time I wrecked one of their cars. Look at need for speed most wanted, and midnight club LA. Those all had pretty cool chases.

Plus, when you get caught, there already are consequences. You lose some money and all of your weapons, which isn't much of a consequence for cheaters, but for those who don't use cheats it's pretty serious. I think the punishment is perfectly adequate. Especially if you stumbled upon a particularly fun area, but you haven't got it down on the map yet, so you have to rely on stumbling upon it through sheer luck once more.

GTA is too fast paced for a jail or prison with activities. Only if it was a mission or couple of missions it would be cool.

What if you start in jail. And first few missions is to gain reputation inside the prison before your ever coming release date. Hence the way you build your connections.

So maybe a few stealth mission, a few bum rape mission...(just joking), and a few silent murder missions.

Once or twice. But that speaks more to a problem of the police not being good enough drivers or fast enough on foot to ever have a chance of catching you on a one star wanted level. Certainly not an issue of the punishment not being severe enough.

Personally, I think it would be better if it's part of the storyline and not happening all the time you break the law. In GTA, were always breaking the law. Stealing cars, blowing sh*t up etc.
So if it was to happen sometime in the storyline would be the best offer in my opinion. smile.gif

I'm really fine with maintaining RDR's system. Lower level crime ends with some jail time that is presented as a cinematic. Higher level crime ends with a bullet to the head.

I don't even need to read OP's post to know what this is about. It's a jackass of an idea supported by an assclown mentality. Just take a minute to rub two brain cells together to think about the degree in which gameplay will be halted if you all of a sudden have to spend time in a prison playing some dumbass shower ass-rape mini-game just to get out again. How about if we get "wasted" from the result of a car accident we have to spend 2 weeks in the hospital in traction. Maybe they can make a mini-game where we have to aim our asshole so we hit the bedpan! Losing your guns and a chunk of cash is punishment enough in the GTA world, there's no need for this buffoonery.

TL;DR: Dumbass idea, 100%.

Generally, I will go down in a hail of police gunfire before I surrender to them. The only rare times they can actually catch me is if they do the bust while I'm in a car, and even then I can usually drive off before they get me.
