Am I the only one who finds it unsettling that there are American police officers out there who spend time telling kids to f*ck off on video game forums, represent themselves with a Soviet flag, and, most concerning of all, dismiss GTA's single player content as a side-note!?!

Well if you read through the incredible amount of 2 pages
(yes I know, it's a sh*tload of letters, so if you're no older than 12 and ain't that good at reading I don't blame you)
you would see that our fine marine vet. said cared 25% for sp (that's 1/4th)
Don't tell people what to do and not to do based on some half assed assumption, just because yyou disagree with them. My preference isn't necessahrily the same as yours I for one bought that FPS game that every one loves to hate mainly for the story for instance
OT: never really cared much for the MP in gta, can't see why it should be different with V.. Unless they incorporate some sort of way to sell drugs to peds, get houses/flats, join gangs with other players and have turf wars with others. And a functional economic system. And everything would get saved to the server so next time you load it up it would all still be there. Man, i'm going to freeze myself down till that happens (or V release date/trailer 2)

I understand the love for SP as that's where the series started and that's been one of the many things that's set GTA apart from others. I think more people would like MP though when playing with other friends. That's when the real fun happens. When you have someone to talk to and set things up and go on adventures with, that's when multiplayer really makes sense. Of course when you go on with just you it's just a few other random people riding around shooting things. I think that with the countryside, planes, waterfalls, and mountains the fun factor will skyrocket for MP.

As a side note, if you pay for a game, you pay to play it how you want, not how people think you should. This goes for any game. That's why companies offer "unlock everything" DLC's. Some may just want to play around with all of the best toys or skip the story.

Multi-player, most definitely. I know that the single player story will be awesome. I suspect that the multi-player element is the part of the game that will evolve the most since IV.

I'm more interested in single player, but multiplayer is definitely worth a shot. IV's multiplayer pretty much saved the game for me. Had it not been there, I'd have stopped playing IV even sooner.

Shame on you that u havent completed IVs history, i bet u hate games like skyrim, metal gear solid, max payne, heavy rain, , and story-driven games.
and its for a fact that u buy games just for the MP, ur either a COD, battlefield 3 or any MP-focused games, such a shame.
developers putting so much heart into the history of the game and u just care for its MP.
BATTLEFIELD 3 AND COD. its ok to buy it for the MP only because they re focused on that. but GTA V deserve to be played in SP

I think a few people need to re-think their attitudes in this thread. The beauty of GTA is it allows people to do whatever they like. That includes multiplayer.

I don't know, but it annoys me when people say "This is what GTA's about". Sorry, but R* are the ones who create the games, not you. If they included unicorns, rainbows, leprechauns etc than that's what GTA's about.

Multiplayer is a good alternative to single player IMO. Of course I love singleplayer, but if people prefer multiplayer that's their choice.

You surely aren't going to lose sleep over it.

And yes, I will say it again - if anyone does not bother to complete the storyline in GTA IV or any other GTA game, they clearly are not playing the game properly. That is what I believe and I'm pretty sure most people on here believe the same too. I never once said that people should not play multiplayer only on GTA, if they feel that way, then fine. I just personally think it is the most incomplete, boring and repetitive way to play GTA, that is how I see it, end of. But it is clear to see that the main objective of GTA is to complete the storyline missions, so stop trying to a cocky b*tch smartass. I never once said that people
