| QUOTE (MLGTA @ Friday, Sep 21 2012, 22:30) | | I say wait a little bit longer. | Why should he wait longer? Borderlands 2 got released 4 days ago and more games are coming. I think the stock won't drop so fast again. In early August it would have been a better deal (20% more shares for the same money) but still now it's a good deal. We're now in late September. We're near the fall, the big games are coming, GTA V most likely in March so whatsstrength can earn a lot of money in the next months if he invest soon some money.

| QUOTE (herounderfireza @ Friday, Sep 21 2012, 22:46) | | It's still a risk. The potential is there for Rockstar to only release GTA V November 2013... | Okay, November 2013 seems very unlikely don't you think? I think the worst case would be a delay to May and if whatsstrength would wait until then, then he would still make some big money. Not as good as if GTA V would be released in March but still.
| QUOTE (herounderfireza @ Friday, Sep 21 2012, 22:46) | | But... you've got to risk it to get the biscuit |
Well said! But I think in the case of Rockstar and TakeTwo, the OP has nothing to fear.
@MLGTA: The next finance conference is on November 8th. Even if we've a release date (for March) before the next conference call then we should still look at it to see if there is a delay.

| QUOTE (Cyfa @ Friday, Sep 21 2012, 22:52) | | QUOTE (Frantz Fuchs @ Friday, Sep 21 2012, 16:47) | OK, first quarter Net Revenue was $226.1 Million. (MP3). Borderlands 1 sold 4.5 million so let's say BL2 will sell 6 million (2x total MP3 sales) so they will make $450 million from BL2. Rougly the same numbers from Bioshock: Infinite and NBA so that's another $900 million.
In total, that's $1.35 Billion already and take two have lots of other games coming out too so V could very well miss the 2013 fiscal year.
Of course this is very roughly worked out but still. |
Do they get $60 from retailers? | Nope, they have to pay for the physical CD's, the case, getting it rated by ESRB, licensing it by MS and Sony. In the end, the devs only get about $30 per copy.
