I did not find a thread about this game.

I made a comparison of all the three F1 games. If you like it, share it with others. smile.gif

I'll be getting this game soon, only thing I didn't get was that it's made in the uk yet it releases in the uk after the us and the rest of europe. Played the demo though and I hope the young driver's test isn't compulsory because there wasn't really any point in it for me however the championship mode addition looks like a good idea.

That video definitely shows the progression in graphics the game has made in only 2 years.

This game looks pretty cool. I never seemed to play F12011 much, mostly because of the dire running performance on PS3, which rather put me off it. Hopefully this one has none of that.

Good comparison shots icon14.gif.

Is that you driving in the videos or the AI? if it's you then you're hitting that racing line like a pro.

Bought F1 2010 after it got reduced to about 25 quid and it's a decent sim, does get a little boring after you've gone through practice/qualification and then the race so i tend to only do 1-2 weekends at a time. Skipped 2011 but i did like the 2012 demo that was recently released, not too many changes to the environment but the cars look (reflections) a lot better.

AI, of course. smile.gif

I am not comfortable with these cars at the moment, I would have to spend hours to get a perfect lap. And the AI is perfect for doing comparisons.

Good comparison shots. I just bought this game today. I'm not a huge F1 fan really, but I had F1 2010 and F1 2011 and I thought they were quite good so I thought I would be this years. icon14.gif

I do like the F1 games but one thing annoys me is the timing of the releases. They always release them toward the end of the real life F1 season, which is a bit frustrating.

Yeah the problem with this is that it will always be that way because all the teams launch their cars and announce driver line-ups just before the season starts, so they can't add the finishing touches to the game until after the season has started anyway.

However I think codemasters said they planned on releasing free dlc after release to continue the replay ability of the game for longer than usual. that might not be 100% correct, I'll try to find the interview with the details.

edit: here's that link I was talking about, basically it's just adding the feature of multiplayer race weekends, not that much.

But this looked interesting, something I always hoped codemasters would bring into the franchise when they picked it up, though it won't be coming in this year's game.

I really hope that's true, it'd be a great little bonus. I managed to get my hands on the demo the other day and I loved the hell out of it so there's a chance I might buy it, although I may wait until the price goes down a little bit.

As gta3kuruma mentioned, I hope the Young Drivers Test isn't compulsory. It seems a bit tedious and didn't actually help me out that much. The free run aspect is great though. Also, that comms dude is really f*cking annoying. One thing that annoys me about it is the lack of subtitles. Why don't they have them? Fair enough, it may be difficult at first but people who use them often, like myself, get used to them almost instantly. If you don't need them, don't use them. Everyone wins. I had to Google this whole KERS and DRS thing to understand what it does simply because I couldn't understand the bloke.

Anyway, I'll shut up now.

Would this be a good buy for someone who's new to the series? Seen it for €26 euro and I'm really considering it!

I can't see why not. I've not played any before this and I seemed to get along fine. The handling takes a while to get used to but that's expected with any new racing game really. I don't really follow F1 in general but as a racing game it's genuinely brilliant so it's captured my interest immediately.

Of course. You certainly won't regret buying it and 26 euros is not a bad price.
I'm loving this game at the moment. Much more than 2010 and 2011. The graphics are fantastic and I love the sounds. inlove.gif
