First of all, calm down. Secondly, did you check the back of the game box and read the minimum requirements? It's clearly stated that you need a DirectX 9 compatible Stereo Sound Card to run the game.

1. Soz,
2. Tbf, If i buy a game online, I can't look at the requirements...
3. I have an apple mac (So it should be capable with most things)
4: What actually is a sound card? :L
5. Was really hoping to just play the game without loads of hassle :L
6. Never buying a pc game again.

EDIT: Just checked the diagnostic tool and apparently my directx version is 10?

Well, you didn't specify that you bought the Mac version of the game. You did buy the Mac version and not the Windows version, right? tounge.gif

And even online sites specify the requirements of any game that they sell. Anyways, you should have a sound card on-board. If you're able to hear sounds, play music, then it's working fine.

Sorry I won't be of any more help as I have little to no idea about the Mac version of the game. Maybe someone else will be able to help you out here. Good luck.

I don't mean to sound rude but you don't seem to have any idea about computer technology. A sound card and speakers is not the same thing. A sound card is a device that is in-built onto your motherboard or you can install it separately. Speakers only facilitate hearing of sounds/music that is processed by the sound card. You need both if you want to play or hear any kind of sound in your PC.

Majority of the PC games these days require you to have a sound card installed in your system. Speakers are NOT mandatory.

Does your Apple MAC have an Audio Card to plug speakers into?
Does you Apple MAC have the drivers for an Audio Card?

So you only used your MAC for 'work'?
Think of getting speakers as buying 'equipment' for your Sport outing. smile.gif
