I notice that with very small movements moving the mouse up or to the left, that the mouse doesn't move. If the DPI and sensitivity were set low enough, I could move the mouse left or up and it would only respond with fast mouse movement.
Moving the mouse right or down is perfect. To see what I mean, set the mouse as lowest sensitivity in GTA 4 control options, then (if you can) set your mouse DPI to be about 500 DPI, then zoom in with your gun and try to make minor adjustments up or left (assuming you don't use inverse mouse, in which case it will be down or left).
What's actually causing this, and is there a way to fix it? Thanks.
BTW, this doesn't happen with the mouse cursor in the GTA 4 menu, just the actual game movement.

| QUOTE (unc13bud @ Saturday, Sep 22 2012, 21:50) | | both of yawl are just posting opinions, even though i don't feel either way on this issue. original poster, have you tried more than one mouse? |
No, I have not tried more than one mouse. I'll try to get hold of another from a friend. 360 control pad? pleeease. I already have one, I wouldn't use it with any game over the mouse and keyboard. Cruising around in the car is kind of cool, but I wouldn't play the game seriously with a control pad. Hell, even the car isn't any better to drive with the control pad, you're just flicking the joystick from side to side all the time, so might as well use the keyboard. And using the view is seriously slow and inaccurate compared with the mouse, plus it feels like having to stand on your head in a pit of vipers whilst rubbing your tummy. I mean, you have to hold your thumb in the same position on the controller just to keep the view where it is. Plus you can't rotate any further than a certain degree. How you people actually shoot with the controller, whilst driving at the same time, is completely beyond me. Not to mention that I can't even reconfigure the controls. Arggh, the controller sucks, how dare you insult me!!!!1 Oh, BTW, before my original post seems like I'm describing the mouse as "non functional", not at all. I'm describing a very minor issue that only occurs during 1 pixel movement of the mouse without about 1 second. It's still INFINITELY superior to the lolcontroller. It was not legitimate advice, you basically told the guy to purchase one more piece of equipment he doesn't even need nor want. He's obviously looking for a way to make the input method of his preference less jerky, not some shopping advices. You also said | QUOTE | | There is no real advantage of using the mouse in GTA IV. |
which is just plain idiotic. Sorry for having to use that word, but it is, it's idiotic. If you find the game better with gamepads, good, I personally couldn't be happier for you, everyone should be free to play the game any damned way they please (as long as technically feasible.) OT took it a bit too far with the ridicule, but I personally agree with most of what he said. I would never play GTAIV with a gamepad, no matter how crippled the k&m input is, that's just my preference and the way I roll. There is so much difference between these two input methods it's even superfluous discussing about it, lets just agree that we disagree, at least on the bit I quoted you for.
