Hi, guys. By the title, it's impossible not to figure out what this thread is about. Yeah, it's about my retirement. This time, real, official retirement.
Aside the topic I made a few months back called ''Important notice'' which is locked for a long time now anyway, of course. That thread was opened due to my first'' unofficial retirement which was forced cause of my personal life issues and stuff at that time. However, this retirement is free, it isn't forced or anything similar, in other words, it's voluntarily and by my own will.
Back in the day on August 8th 2010, I joined this Forum cause I saw videos of AznKei on Youtube in which he played some missions or doing tutorials and I wanted to be able to do the same. I downloaded DYOM and started cracking its magic. And I gotta tell you, it was pretty awesome to see all that features and stuff which I knew how to handle from the beginning. Some time later, I opened up my first topic here and released the first mission of my first mission pack called ''GTA CJ Stories''. I had been releasing mission after mission and I couldn't get a single comment cause I was new and I had to break my way through. Nobody starts at the top. Couple of weeks later, it really happened. Couple of guys actually told me my missions were good and that was my ''jumping board'' of some sort to sink more into DYOM business. Every day I was combining elements and figuring out which objective goes best with which feature etc., etc. I don't want to read out all of the mission packs I made, but mainly, with every new mission pack I had released, I got more and more feedback from many people and started getting some ''respect'' around here. After a couple of months I also started a DYOM multi-designer's mission pack called ''Johnny Nixon Chronicles'' which I'm very proud of that it's made such a huge success. But, I couldn't do it without the help of other designers, of course.
As the time passed by, I was getting better and better and more known. Then finally,l I released 2 of my most successful mission packs, ''Brian Thompson's Heist'' and ''The Runaway'', a mission pack which had almost 500 comments in its official thread and I'm very proud of that aswell. With that, I guess I can say I got the respect of all major DYOM users around here. As for my other in-between mission packs I released, anyone who wants to check them out, here's the topic link for that aswell:

That's pretty much end of my DYOM business story. As for the DYOM subforum, aside the spam wars and occasional misunderstandings, it's a great place and I'm very happy I was, am and will be a part of. You guys have been like my second family and for that I thank you very much. All of you are awesome. There's no really other way to put it. Even guib, in his own way I thank you all for the support over this great 2 years and I'm glad that I left such a huge mark in this subforum, or the DYOM history, depends on how you see it. Also, I'd like to thank the DYOM developers, Patrick and Dutchy for making DYOM in the first place which made all this possible for me and for others too. I'm gonna be off to college soon and that pretty much ends my ''junior'' or ''teen'' era, so that's one of the reasons I'm doing this now and not before or later. There's no better time than the present. Sure, I'll still come and see what is going on around this subforum and see all the newcomers doing their thing There are no many people of my ''DYOM generation'' left here. Doublepulse, Secronom President, LCJ and Kratos are the only ones I can think of right now. I salute you and try to stay as long as you can. As for the guys that came after me, I don't want you to think I forgot about you. SatournFan, Notna, Nitesh, KaRzY, Ghost and the rest of the crew, I salute you aswell for being the new leading DYOM generation To conclude, you're probably starting to be hungry while reading this huge post of mine, so I better cut this up. It's been a blast, a 2 year long blast, but you get the point. Over this 2 years I've done everything I wanted to do with DYOM and there is nothing I can show for anymore. It's just like musicians who decide to retire from making music because they've done everything they can with the instrument and there's nothing they can or need to show anymore I just hope you guys won't forget about me right away.. or very soon. So long from Jimmy. Thanks for reading this post
P.S. I might finish ''Swiping Kings'' mission pack, but I can't make a promise to you. Jimmy Leppard's DYOM career: [August 8th, 2010 - September 4th, 2012] PRETTY SOON - BACK INTO BUSINESS This post has been edited by Jimmy_Leppard on Thursday, Dec 27 2012, 21:56

Never thought that you'll retire so fast, but, it's your decision, so I respect it . Don't worry, I, I mean, we, the whole DYOM Community will never forget you. You're one of the best designers here. So, farewell Jimmy, good luck in your college

Uh no. | QUOTE | | Jimmy Leppard's DYOM career: [August 8th, 2010 - September 4th, 2012] |
Oh my. God forbid, I won't take part in this. What is this, this.. this madness. I don't even, I, How dare yo-, you don't just.. Why are you doing this to me? Shamelessly retire. uh, I guess. If that's what you want, but this is utterly unnecessary, I mean it would make things look weird if you once come back again, which everybody does at one point. Well, we can't force you. But remember that this 'Official retirement', is meaningless to me and to everybody who cares about you as a designer, as an important part of this community, This retirement is once again, completely meaningless. which means that if, no. WHEN you come back, you don't owe us any explanation at all, be sure of that. Nothing irreverseable happened here, oh god. We'll miss you alot.

Wow. Emotional comments here. I didn't know I made such a huge mark on you guys.
KaRzY, no problem and thanks
Ghost, I won't forget to check the forum
Notna, thanks for such a reply. I'm really glad that you feel that way.
alif, thanks a lot, man. I'll be sure to check the reviews out when you start making them
Doublepulse, same here, man
Kratos, thanks for that comment and for your strong hunch that I'll come back. I don't know. Maybe it really will be like in the movies when a retired thief comes back to business. We'll see what future brings
All others, thanks for the goodbyes I'll never forget you
