Hey I started playing GTA san andreas lately but I am getting a problem while playing on very high visual fx quality.
My PC specs are:
ATI HD4670
DDR2 4GB RAM
Dual Core processor 2.95 Ghz
500GB HDD
The problem is when I put visual fx quality on very high the games lags really bad. When I put it on low it runs very well and I put the rest
of setting on high. It really bugs me that I cant play the game with visual fx quality on highest. I tried updating drivers but it still lags whenever I put
Visual FX quality on very high. I can run the game pretty well with everything on high except the visual fx quality. I think my pc should run it pretty well.

With these setting game doesnt lag:
Draw distance: Maximum
Frame limiter: off
Visual FX quality: Low
Mipmapping: On
Antialliasing: 3
Resolution: 1600x900
Widescreen: On

With these setting game lags:
Draw distance: Maximum
Frame limiter: off
Visual FX quality: Very High
Mipmapping: On
Antialliasing: 3
Resolution: 1600x900
Widescreen: On

I would really like to play this game without putting visual fx quality to low.
I dont have any mods or skins.
Please help.

Turn wide screen off.
Set at a resolution of 1080, 8** or what ever.
Turn the draw distance down a bit maybe to half ways.
Disable antialliasing.

I tried it and it doesnt lag much but I really wanna play the game with the highest settings on.

maybe it's your game itself?
Which version did you buy?
Are you playing with the DVD in the Drive?
Did you (or someone else) install any mods?

i am not playing with dvd in the drive.
I use v1.01 of the game if there are some better updates tell me.
I dont have any mods.

Well, that could be your problem.
The Version One game is on DVD ONLY. The Patch v1.01 would be installed to fix bugs and allow options to the V1 game Only.
Since you've cracked it to allow playing without the DVD the only fix is to remove the crack and start playing with the DVD in the Drive.
And, since the Patch V1.01 doesn't allow for Game play Modding, that's of no concern.

Well.... at this point I believe your machine is telling you it can't handle the game at the setting. You're left with: suffering with it, taking the lower setting, or getting a better computer.

I am very suprised that my machine cant handle the game, my computer is more then recomended for the game but I still think its a game problem rather then computer problem.

Put the resolution to 1440x900x32?

hey you have the same (well nearly) processor as me.

I Have a pentium dual core too but it is a 2.00 ghz one.

But that pc can run max payne 3, or do you have enough hard disk space?

You are probably correct it is your Game.
You have a Version One game and you don't have the Disc?
That means the game is Cracked.
A Crack is a modification of the games normal requirement of using the Disc, which is the way the V1 (First Edition) was sold. Putting the whole game onto the HD may be stressing the system.
Since you have Patched the game v1.01 that means you arn't interested in further modding. So you should buy a new Disc Version 2 (Second Edition) Game Disc.
That's about 10$US at amazon.com and other locations. (I suggest you Don't buy the Download Version (V3). We see way too many requests for help getting it going.)

Purchase V2 .... but if your interested in modding you can still downgrade.(We Don't discuss downgrading at the forums)

that pc is very good and modern so it is a game problem

Check the AA setting and set it to 0.

Hey Guys I just installed gta san nadreas v2 and no cd crack on it. I am getting the same problem as v1 please help. (lag with evry high visual fx quality)

Lil veasel (as you told me to) I installed v2 of gta san andreas and it still lags whenever I put visual fx quality on very high. Do you have any more ideas for a solution of this problem, and to anyone who is reading this please let me know if there is any solution for my problem. (if you dont know about my lag problem check my post its called gta san andreas lag problem on good computer).

By now it should be clear that your current computer cannot handle the settings you desire.
