Does anyone still play the games?
I do. There awesome. I wish they would make a 4th. Spike and the time station from Ape Escape PS1 were announced for PS all stars battle royale. Pretty cool.

Ape Escape was awesome until they brought the series to PSP. Ape Escape On the loose, the racer one, and 2 accadmy ones sucked. Then they revive the series with a crappy PSmove spin off. Lame. I really hope they make one. Back in 2010 it was confirmed they were making ape escape 4 and ape escape move. Nothing ever came out of ape escape 4 though.

Ape Escape has a funny place in my heart, I didn't choose the game but I just happened to by the first PS1 game I ever owned, it took me years before I found specter because I kept getting lost in the final level.
Yes I am a terrible gamer.

Then I bought the PSP port of it and seldom enjoyed completing it.

It holds a lot of nostalgia for me, but I wouldn't say It was really a gem in my eyes.

I never played any of the sequels apart from a demo, the first game was it for me.

I love ape escape 1-3. Ape escape 1 being the top of that because of nostalgia and well, its simply better.

I'm glad to see this name alive..

The first Ape Escape I fell in love with, especially that boxing mini-game.. Then I played 3 and it was also very good - the content, the atmosphere, etc. Later I played the second one, and it just wasn't as good because the level design was so... basic and not really as "memorable" as the other games (I use that term loosely because I just played a bit of it and gave up afterwards).

I was heartbroken though because my CD for Ape Escape 1 had a crack in it..

If I had a chance to buy a game that I've lost during my childhood THAT would be the game I would buy once more.

Has anyone on the other side of the pond get to play Million Monkeys?

While playing around with the psx emulator, Ape Escape was the only game that I got to run well. Something about that music, and the robotic/laser technology reminds me of my childhood. smile.gif

Yes. I imported it here to america and played it on my NTSC-J system. My system i have is useful for that. The main reason i still had it though was to play resident evil outbreak online still. The japan version of the game still had online play up until july last year. Sadly it is now fully offline. sad.gif
