Well, I just had a couple of friends come over recently and they've said I've the weirdest music taste in the whole country.

Please tell me that's not the case lol.

What do you think about it? Is my music taste really odd?

I've basically shuffled my whole library (300 something songs) and these were the first ten:

Not weird, just quite varied. I'm the same, I hate it when people ask me what kind of music I'm into because I don't know where to begin. If anything, I think people who only like one genre of music are weird.

Anyway, similar to what Hobgoblin said, I think it's odd that people ask what kind of music someone is into. I mean, sure, we all have our favourite genres, but that's because we tend to listen to a variety of them. I don't even know the genres of half the stuff I listen to. Only yesterday did I find out that a new track I'm somewhat obsessed with it classed as Nu-Disco Needless to say, I felt rather hipster after I knew this.

Maybe you should stop trying to justify yourself in accordance with others. Just listen to what you like, do what you like as long as you are happy with it then it's fine. If you think you are capable to reason things on your own then it follows that you don't need justification from others.

Yea I get that too sometimes or I get people who are pleasantly surprised like "Oh wow, you like them? Me too, I wouldn't think you'd be into that". Nobody's tastes are weird, your friends just don't appreciate the music like you do. I listen to nearly anything (except Country Rock, metal/*core, and Bluegrass) and my musical tastes weren't delivered to me by aliens (as far as I know.)

True. On the flip side, it doesn't help socially when you can't play your sh*t because it's not what anyone else wants to hear. I don't know many hip-hop heads as my friends are all musically varied in every direction but mine, so I don't get a look in at parties etc, not in even the mainstream stuff I ahve on there to please the majority, haha.

Can't pick and choose 'em over music though.

ED: that's not to say that's the only genre I have on my playlists. I like a decent amount of rock and dubstep, I orgasm at piano music...Some other random stuff.
