Ok so ive just picked up a cheap Episodes of Liberty City off ebay and was just wondering what the situation is with the multiplayer. Will I be on the same servers as GTAIV and be able to play with friends with the base IV game?

No. This is how it works:
- GTA IV players play with each other.
- EFLC DOWNLOAD players play with each other.
- EFLC DISC players play with each other.

So all the people who downloaded the dlc to GTA4 dont play with the people who didnt?

Would I still be the same multiplayer lvl as I was last time I played base GTA4?

Yeah, the level will not change. If you're level 6 on IV you unlock level 6 clothing in both episodes.

Regarding the online servers thing... here is how it works.

TLAD download players can only play with TLAD download players
TLAD disc players can only play with disc players (EFLC)

TBOGT players can play with both disc and download players. R* fixed that nonsense.
