I recently bought the game on steam but it wasn't working, the game would open and immediately close, after reinstalling it several times I figured steam f*cked up and I went to the pirate bay to see if it would work on a torrented version (keep in mind I already bought the game on steam lol), after downloading several torrent I had the same problem. So I did some research and found out the game was not compatible with windows 7 64-bit (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/Search.aspx?l=en-us&type=Software&s=gta&os=64-bit), can anyone tell me how I can get the same to work? This was a really fun game and I've bought 3 separate copies of it (ps2, xbox360, pc) but I play the SA-MP mod. I really want to play this game can someone help me?

Most of the users just activate the Admin-Priveleges, and run it in W98 mode.
In my case it worked fine without needing to do anything special.
I personnally don't like 'download' games, I'd rathar have the DVD so I can move it to the next computer without all the fiddling with codes.
And, so you know now, we don't help with pirated/torrent/warez game problems.
Buy a DVD and have fun.

I'm running SA on 64-bit Win 7, so Microsoft isn't entirely right.

Have you tried running the game in Win 98 compatibility mode?

Yes, do what Girish said. Windows98/ME is the best solution, better than on WindowsXP compatiblity.
On Windows98?ME you'll get less mouse troubles and crashes.

I've heard about such stuff. In case compatibility doesn't work, it might need to be downgraded. Let us know if it'll be needed for further explanations or not.

That's just wrong Csabi. Quite honestly, most of today's and tomorrow's games are made for Windows 7 & Vista. It's a huge possibility that GTA V won't be made for Windows XP anymore. A lot of people I know use Windows 7 for gaming and it works just well, and I'm about to install it myself as well.
