Ignore them They're just being stupid and simple minded.

Says the man who think that the "Ti" acronym is for lower-end cards.

Please ignore MIKON8ERISBACK, he's proven himself time and time again to have a very limited understanding of hardware. The initial two posters were correct, it's very unlikely you'll get IV to run at all, so don't get your hopes up. For instance, the engine simply needs more than 1GB RAM in order to operate, quite aside from anything being drawn down by Windows.

You can, but the catch is that the modding community has to have created a "low end" PC mod that'll chop up the screen resolution low enough (640x480), draw distance, visual effects quality, and anti-aliasing enough. And even then, you may have performance problems with that build. You can't even count on the fact that a low end patch that drastic even exists, especially now that most of the fanbase has suitable video cards.

Uhm...the game won't even run, considering the SM 2.0 256MB DDR VRAM graphics card, let alone the the 1GB memory.

I didn't pay attention to the RAM type. Sorry.

I would recommend saving your money and buying a new computer. Even if you did get it to work, it would be playing at a very low framerate, look horrible and will just be plain unenjoyable. If you do decide to get a new PC whether that's a laptop or desktop, members in this forum will happily advise you as long as you are patient and polite. Check out the builds thread and there's a guide pinned on how to build a PC at the top of this forum.

Because he's making a really stupid excuse.

On topic: Even my computer, which has a 2.1 GHz processor, a 1024 MB video card, and 3 GB of RAM, can barely, just barely, play the game. My average FPS was under 25 unless I looked at the ocean, and more than often a large portion of the map would stop loading and become invisible.

As I already said. I was too f*cking impatient to read the specs. I would have been able to make a proper reply if I had. You have to be one of the worst if not the very worst person I have EVER run into on the internet. You look for people that don't agree with you or whom you simply don't like and try to use every single mistake against them on the internet in order to humiliate them, or at least just me.

Your one-sidedness is so outstanding... barf8bd.gif

Great. Double posting, off-topic spam and flaming in one post; nicely done. Just throw in some warez and porn and you've got the recipe for a permaban. Frankly I couldn't care whether you like or dislike me, or what you think of me- it's your own posts which have got you shouted down, not just by myself but by other members too. Simply put, if you are going to post advice, at least ensure it's based in something resembling fact; failure to read a topic before posting is not an excuse or mitigation- in fact it makes things worse. You voluntarily chose to give inaccurate advice, by your own admission without reading the topic beforehand. If you cannot handle this being picked up on and you being contradicted or rebuffed for it without automatically assuming it's some kind of personal vendetta, then you're obviously not emotionally mature enough to use a public forum.

Mate, this isn't the first time you've given wrong advice if I recall correctly; don't get your panties in a bunch if people start to get pissed off about it as a result. There is nothing more frustrating than some random ass advising the topic creator to dismiss previous well-informed posts by others in favour of their own incorrect advice. It ultimately makes it harder to successfully assist someone.

If you don't know what you are talking about (to clarify - you don't), then you should keep from posting in the tech sections unless you're requesting help yourself.

FFS, I didn't voluntarily choose to give inaccurate advice. I said I was f*cking sorry for not reading the specs. I didn't realize it at first.

Do you think I'm actually stupid enough to throw in warez and porn on the Forums? I'm insulted.

@MIKON8ERISBACK: Why can't you accept the fact that you've, on more than one occasion, given out wrong advice and just back off? Maybe the tech forums aren't meant for you; leave it to the guys who are actually knowledgeable on tech related topics.

You've to realize that posting incorrect stuff in a tech topic would piss off anyone, especially if the TS is looking for specific help/assistance. No wonder you got called out for it. Next time, don't post in a topic unless you've read the first post entirely and are technically aware of the solution/suggestion.
