Please share your thoughts, ideas, etc. about the Designers Code of Honor. I would like to quote this from on of my posts: | QUOTE | | And no one said you couldn't propose edits to already created ones (i.e. xGhostx propose to edit rule four to something like "after every four of five missions" or "after a chapter has been completed." <- Which is currently under reviewal.) After all, we are under a democracy and the rules will be based on on the community's wants, needs, etc. I apologise if the topic sounded authoritarian or like a dictatorship. | This post has been edited by Secronom President on Saturday, Aug 25 2012, 13:58

We are not a GFX section, so why would you have too much pictures in one post? A logo is enough; headers like the ones I will list are unnecessary, in my opinion: gangs; characters; missions; etc. Although I do admit they can make the main post nice looking. As for the information part, I believe it shouldn't be the main thing of the post; missions should, in my opinion. The major part which usually requires more writing is the story part. As for the suggestion itself, there are two ways it can go: posts boosting and usefulness. If you look at it (in general, not only in here), people sometimes reserve too many posts which end up not beeing used. If you look at it in here, some people reserve a post or two, but they cancell their mission pack (meaning they were not put at use.) If you look at leoncj's mission pack, Matthew Hegan's Path, his second post (which was reserved) turned into a DLC section. | QUOTE (Arejai @ Saturday, Aug 25 2012, 11:23) | Wow, some of the rules discouraged my spirit.
But anyway.. |
Exactly, Secro I respect you alot but lately you're doing lots of mess. Adding another pinned thread, another set of rules, another all in one thread. Now this partly ridiculous thread, with it's own credits section. Designers bump their threads with updates to keep their projects alive, then they also even comment on the designer's lounge, it's part of a damn struggle to maintain a missionpack. And you were/are a designer, you were suppoused to understand. How come you've made these rules? It discourages rule-loyal members of our community, you became a moderator to help shape this community for good and help it's members, why won't you do so? If you are refering to the Information for Support topic, it's for people with problems to help us understand what it is and what could be the cause; if you are refering to the Games Inventory, it's for people to have it easier when searching for a game (if is has already been made, if they cannot find it, etc.) As for the Designers Lounge part, they can post in it asking if someone could post feedback in their topic instead of multiple posting (which is against the site rules.) Well, most of these rules were 'unwritten' and some of them are common sense. I mostly based myself on the reactions I've seen after witnessing some 'rulebreaking.' As for rule one, duplicating says it all; as for rule four, I've seen past reports about guys who posted 'new mission released' post longing from one hour to twenty four hours and as I said, it is breaking a forum rule; as for rule five, I've seen some reports about that; as for rule six, I've seen many topics like getting bad feedback from others and it's pointless (in my opinion) to make topics when you don't have anything done on it; as for rule seven, well I think it's common sense too; as for rule eight, look at Toni Forelli guy; as for rule nine, it will mostly cause spam (look at the time when TonyCJ was comming back under different accounts and people was pointing it out, for reference); as for rule eleven, it's common sense too. As a designer, I always hated multiple posting to post updates (even if I did it.) As I already said, most of these were 'unwritten' rules now made official. And no one said you couldn't propose edits to already created ones (i.e. xGhostx propose to edit rule four to something like "after every four of five missions" or "after a chapter has been completed." <- Which is currently under reviewal.) After all, we are under a democracy and the rules will be based on on the community's wants, needs, etc. I apologise if the topic sounded authoritarian or like a dictatorship. To conclude: if you want, we could get PatrickW's or Dutchy3010's or both word on this. Well, I think I said all I had to say and hope I forgot nothing. When someone makes his few newer missions, and has his thread fogotten, he should be able to atleast bump it with new missions/missionpack revival/etc. Just saying, rule 4 needs polishing, exceptions.

Suggestion by Yezz007 -> Rule twelve: No 'this post has been reserved' posts in your topic. It's only posts boosting and the majority of the people can put the content in one post.Suggestion by xGhostx -> Rule twelve: The number of such posts should be limited, because some designers have alot of information or alot of pictures in their topic.Reply and suggestion by Secronom President (please do not take my opinions as a led-by's opinion, but rather as a normal member's opinions.) -> Why would you have too much pictures in a post? A logo should be enough; no need for headers. As for too much information, a few lines about the characters, groups, and some lines about the story and that's it (it shouldn't be the main thing of the post.) As for the suggestion itself, it can go two ways: posts boosting or helpfulness. There are times when these posts will not come in handy and in others' it will (i.e. leoncj's mission pack, Matthew Hegan's Path, which the second post (which was a reserved one) turned into a DLC section.) My suggestion is that posting a 'post reserved' post should be only allowed only for DLC sections.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Suggestion by xGhostx -> Rule four: Multiple posting should only be allowed after releasing three or four missions or even after a whole chapter has been completely designed.Suggestion by Kratos2000 -> Rule four: When the designer publishes his latest missions and his topic has been forgotten, he should be allowed to bump and/or multiple post an update, a new, etc.Suggestion by Secronom President (please do not take my opinions as a led-by's opinion, but rather as a normal member's opinions.) -> Rule four: My suggestion to this is that bumping and/or multiple posting should be allowed only if your topic is on the second page (based on the default's page system.)------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Feel free to discuss these and propose new ones or edits to already existing rules. caio3771: I guess so, unless someone else's exceptionally manage to bring something useful to that topic.
