Hey so i am going to finally build the computer i talked about in a few threads. Well i need it to do the following things perfectly:

Run Windows 7
Play GTA IV, GTA V, Fallout 3, Fallout NV, The Sims 2, Simcity Societies, Simcity 2013, Resident Evil 6, Saints Row 3, Unity 3D all on Very high settings with no severe framedrops. I am going to have about $1000 saved in 2 months, so something $1000 and under, but good enough to do that. Thanks. Id do it myself, but like i said, im retarded at this type of stuff. lol.gif

HD6850 is EOL, I'd go for HD7770 instead.

$229,99 Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16819116504

$129,00 SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 7770 GHz Edition 1GB 128-bit
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814102967

$139,99 MSI Z77A-G45 LGA 1155
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813130645

$69,99 Western Digital Caviar Blue WD5000AAKX 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5"
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16822136769

$41,99 CORSAIR XMS3 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820233335

$64,99 Rosewill HIVE Series HIVE-650 650W
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16817182132

$16,99 ASUS DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16827135204

$39,99 NZXT Source 210 S210-001 Black “Aluminum Brush / Plastic” ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16811146075

= $732,93

Something like that, you might go for HD6870 if you have some extra cash. And yes, this PSU is waaaaaaaay more powerful than necessary, but it's a pretty good deal anyway (just $5 more than Antec neo Eco 520C, which is not only less powerful, but it's an older and worse, group regulated design).

The 6850 has better performance and is a 256 bit card, but yea the 6870 is better if you can swing it.

Definitely get a 6870 if your budget is 1000 significantly better than the 7770, Yoyos build has 200 bucks of head room once shipping is added.
The 7770 is slightly worse than the 6850 but uses Less power.

So add in the 6870 or even better if you were planning ahead and you should be set.

Yes, they can, but I'd probably hazard a guess that the failure rate is much lower. Many component suppliers offer warranties between 5 and 7 years for their parts, which means that even if you do suffer failures replacement/renewal is often easy, cheap and comparatively trouble free.

There's a good chance some of these recommended components will change in the next few months, why would you start a thread if you're not actually buying now?
