You won't need shortcuts. Drive carefully with that car slow when turning and you will win. smile.gif

You hit it on the first try.
SHORTCUTs, while the other drivers are required to stay on the road/trails. You don't have to. Your limitiation is only to tic the Red Pylons.
Drive cross-country straight as you can to the next pylon.
On the Loop-Back (Hairpin) curves drive to the next pylon directly. Leave the road to the other drivers.
Don't hit any of the other drivers, and generally they will let you alone.

There is a nice shortcut after the 1st bend in the road, just wait till the 2nd bend early on in the race, there's a dirt path leading straight to the next corona. By then you will have a handy lead and drive carefully ie don't try power slides around corners, the car has a tendency to spin out. For the 1st race I always choose a Rancher as its big, doesn't spin out hard to flip over and goes just the right speed
