It all started with a man named Yuri Malikov who worked for Moscow's Russian Mafia. He was sent out to Liberty City in 1996 to expand the Russian Mafia's buisness which was a good opportunity to make a name for himself. When he arrived in Liberty City he stayed in a place called Hove Beach, which is the most Eastern European area in Liberty City. Yuri found out that Hove Beach was already being controlled by a hothead russian called Mikhail Faustin. Faustin was the most violent man in Hove Beach and he had an big organization behind him which made taking over Hove Beach for Yuri a hard task.
Drug Den Takedown.
Yuri knew that if he wanted to take over Hove Beach he was going to need some muscle, and finding men to help do some dirty work was going to be hard because most of the Russian heavys worked for Faustin. Aventually Yuri found a few guys that had enough of working for Faustin, to prove the loyalty they told Yuri where some of Faustin's drug dens were and in return Yuri took them in and made them part of his crew. Before Yuri hit the drug dens he needed weapons. So Yuri and Ivan (one of his crew members) went to an underground gun shop in Broker. They bought anough gun for a small army and Ivan who used to be a member of Faustin's mob and also known at the gun shop said "put it on Faustin's account". The owner thought nothing of it and done it anyway. Now that Yuri and his crew were tooled up they could go and hit Faustin's buisnesses starting with the drug dens, the Drugs Trade is an easy and fast growing buisness which is why the drug dens needed to be taken first.
