When all the next gens are out, and the others i posted as a possibility, what one will you get? I will get a Playstation 4.

Sega Dreamcast 2. In a f*cking heartbeat. I'd also buy about 13 of them.

But after that, I don't support Microsoft any more after I've had 7 360s break on me because of that wonderful RROD, so I'm going with PS4.

Why is the Vita in this? It's a hand-held not a console.

As long as it has good games and doesn't cost an arm and a leg when it comes out I'm game for either. Probably stick with the Playstation series, but I'm open to what M$ has up their sleeves.

I'm sorry but why not include the next game boy or next IPhone for that matter? When I think of consoles I think of set-top boxes that go in your living room. When I think of handheld I think of, well, handhelds. Just confusing poll thats all.

Look on wikipedia. its classified as a HANDHELD CONSOLE. Its still a gaming console. But handheld.

I would say that handheld games like the PS Vita and 3DS could be considered "Handheld consoles" and by that extension "consoles". They share many of the same characteristics of consoles- easy to put in and play games, similar controls- and many companies essentially strive to make their handheld systems to be portable versions of their big home consoles.

Plus they are obviously more similar to regular consoles when you compare them to iOS and Android devices, which imo are not primarily gaming platforms and should not be included in such a poll. However, the OP made a mistake by including the PS Vita Slim (a device that doesn't exist yet) and not including the 3DS XL (a device that is coming out soon). So he should have just included the 3DS XL, or no portables at all, since most people read next gen and think "PS4, Xbox 720, and Wii U".

I personally will be getting a Wii U. I have a feeling that the price point will be a much more attractive starting price than that of the PS4 and Xbox 720. I find the tablet controller to be an interesting concept that could be more appealing to play and learn than full motion controls like Kinect. In addition, I am not looking forward to the large hardware sizes of the PS4 and 720, whereas the Wii U takes up the space of a few DVD cases. As much as I love my Xbox 360, I don't want to risk dealing with paying for Xbox Live, not having backwards compatibility on the 720, having my 720 break down, etc. I'll be putting my faith in the hands of the people who have been making great video game consoles for over 25 years.

That being said, my favorite developers (Valve and Rockstar) are unlikely to release any games on the Wii U, so I might have to build a PC or splurge for the Sony or Microsoft console. Maybe I'll go back to Sony, I loved my PS2 and PSP.

No actually i dont. The only time ive messed up a poll was for remaking a GTA game. This was accidental. I forgot to add the 3DS XL. Iphones dont count. There phones.

For next gen I am deciphering where to have a gaming PC or a new console...

I want a PC for mods and stuff like that, but I want console for how quick and easy it is to use to get into the game straight away....

I tried out a powerful PC at my uncles and played Skyrim today, It took a bit of time to get used to the keyboard and mouse...

Not sure what I should get.

But, if I were to get a console, it'd defo be PS4

Another thing that is stopping me from getting PC is that games come on console before PC with some games (namely games by Rockstar)
