Yea, I don't do it compulsively or to people I speak with on a regular basis though. I normally do it at social events where you can end up having to talk to some pretty vapid people who don't have a lot of interesting things to say so I start blurting out bullsh*t to entertain myself. It works much better on girls than guys.

I started out that way, wanting to do it with a somewhat ironic privacy. My girlfriend was into all sorts of things and this sort of secretive public display was a major turn on for her. Two years ago I lied about having a girlfriend to someone (they were trying to make small talk), and eventually that whole class found out about her 'existence'. For two weeks I had to keep up a terrible lie, I based her on one of my friends who lived elsewhere but I think most people could tell I was bull-sh*tting. After about four weeks we 'broke up' because we didn't see each other much.
