So, I recently had a discussion with some gamer comrades at a big Lan party, and all of them have been really mad when we talked about Rockstar.
Before it was one of the most beloved game developer studios, but now they are all just pissed off.

What interested me the most was that most of them agreed that they don't want to buy GTA V, but rather just piratecopy it.

This is an ongoing developement in the gaming communities, and although I understand their frustration over rockstar, I have to ask: Is this really a good way to show it?
How about this community here? (though I don't think any of you would admit it)

If they download piratecopies then they're stupid. "Patience" is the key-word, my friend. I'm a PC gamer and I'll buy GTA V - probably even on day one.

sure if they want to ruin the games industry even further.. that's a great way to do it. Maybe they should stop buying games altogether and work on that overblown sense of entitlement they have?

Games like GTA I don't think that's good. But COD games I do agree they should. Activisions doesn't need anymore money on their last best selling game.

That would be rather stupid, because one of the things they use to determine the fate of video game series' is sales data. How are we supposed to know that the info drought isn't being caused by something out of their control? Isn't the biggest schmuck of all the T2 CEO for what he did at the conference call?

You should tell them that they should go to police and go voluntarily in prison before they destroy the gaming-industry.

Not much more needs to be said, really.

"Waaaah waaaah da gaem iznt out wen I wont it 2 be waaaaah waaaaaaah!"

Shame the game is rated "mature" in regards to age and not mental capacity.

haha i dont disagree with you!

Games companies ask for piracy tbh. They can't complain, especially the likes of THQ and Ubisoft. When they charge you for extra content removed from the game and IS STILL ON THE DISK, then they deserve to be pirated. It's why i buy preowned sometimes.

I'll add EA to the list - they dont address bugs and errors, the fact that for 2 years some people can't actually load Fifa11/12, due to a bug that crashes on start up (though there is a way round it).

Ubisoft whore themselves for DLC. Splinter Cell Blacklist forexample, is not even out yet, not even finished and theyve already announced DLC. AC is almst impossible to play in full, as the US get one DLC, europe another, and preorders another still.

These people deserve it.

Rockstar? I'll admit their lack of information is a little stingy, and i think the trailer came to boost shares, but their games are usually worth it.

piracy's a touchy subject, but those that pirate the game because theres a delay of infomation, are plain pathetic and need to grow up. i'd go as far to call them c*nts

I actually think it's a good thing in a way, though games companies are too stupid to realise: Respect your fans, not the dollar. Yes, i'm talking to you EA and Microsoft.

I'll name a two. They hold back content. They are the first ones to start Onine Passes.

I hate them for messing up the great old NFS games. EA looked too deep into the pockets of 10 year olds, and saw that it had Fast and Furious rice crap with bullsh*t weak storylines written all over it, so that's what the games became. Nothing as fun as driving a riced Supra 220 mph on a mile wide 4-lane permanent wet road, right? biggrin.gif

Oh, and they also ensured that NFS got an annual release, which overstressed the studio's responsible to make the crap, plus bringing down the quality and ''innovation'' each game shóuld have.

And ofcourse their DLC is overpriced biggrin.gif 75 dollars for a manifold and 120 dollars for a riced car, EA.... really?

Even more information wouldn't prevent them from pirating it, they just can't afford the game.

GTAIV was announced in 2006 may. Came out in 2008 april. Its 2 year man, and even if it came out in 2007 as it was originally planned that would be 1 year and 6 months since the 2006 announcment. So why people are angry? GTA V announved 10 months ago, what do u expect? Really?
BTW this topic is bullsh*t...
