Remember in San Andreas, that mission (I believe called Saint Marks Bistro?) you did that took you back to Liberty City from GTA III? What if GTA V has a similar 'throwback' mission? Wouldn't it be cool to be doing a mission, then fly on one of those private jets you see at the end of GTA V's trailer to complete a mission in a specific part of Liberty City, or maybe Vice City? I'd love for a surprise like this sometime throughout the story.

Also, I performed a search on this topic to be sure it hasn't been something discussed recently. These are the results of said search with the keywords used being 'liberty city in san andreas'. I didn't know what other keywords could be used to find such a topic like this though. As you can see for yourself, I don't see any results that relate to this topic of discussion. So, what do you think? Would a 'throwback' mission similar to this be something you'd also like to be surprised with in GTA V? What city from previous GTA's do you want or expect to revisit, or will it be a small section of a new city we visit?

I would like that but I can't think of any reason to return to a different city...

the search function doesn't work.. I guess the forum is just too big.

Anyway... yeah, I'd love that, that entire sequence of missions was pretty fun, altough the Saint Mark's Bistro mission itself was pretty short and unimpressive by itself. Took longer to get there than to do the damn thing.

whats the point? ...to return just to complete it and forget about it for the rest of gameplay? i don't see point in temporary things, that once done with leaves us nothing and i didn't see a point in those mission when i played SA...now if we could fly there at anytime to roam streets of LC thats other thing...

To be honest here, I don't see a reason to return to an old city either, but that's no reason to not discuss the possibility of it. What if this mission involves a 'flashback' to an older city where you get to replay a memory of the main protagonist? Assuming the guy in the trailer is the protag, it's definitely a possibility seeing as how he seems to be trying to 'escape' his past and start a new life in a new city. Maybe this flashback plays a major part in understanding why the protag is doing what he is doing now and a key part for the story.

If its anything like St. Marks Bistro mission on San Andreas, then i'd say no... If its a full on extra city that can be added as an 'island' that you can fly or ride a boat to, then yes.

but therein lies the problem... it would probably be so time consuming and not to mention a very large download that i don't see them doing it... but it would be cool.

not true, for that mission they only rendered a few blocks of Liberty City, surrounding the mission area. if you went far enough you would notice you where walled in.

What would be cool, is a mission to Vice City. A mission within an enclosed area, say an expensive hotel where you assassinate a target in the penthouse. You then take in the panoramic view of Vice City before being picked up by Raul Passos in his helicopter.

Shortly after, Rockstar Leeds announces GTA V: Vice City for the PS Vita. Well, a man can dream. dozingoff.gif

That thread is already months old by now. What's wrong with 1 other topic similar to it? Why dig up an old topic? I can understand a topic within the past couple weeks but any longer and it makes me think why not just create a new and fresh discussion? Besides, even the admins say if it's a really old topic, don't revive it.

What would REALLY be cool is that you go to Vice City to Diaz's mansion (Tommy's at the end) to kill someone! you rappel down from a helicopter in a cut-scene so they don't have to design an entire city.

I'd like a mission where you return to a III-era version of Vice or Liberty City. For old times sake.

I'd love something like this. Perhaps to not carbon-copy SA, there should be a mission that involves visiting a place never touched by GTA, perhaps not even in America.

I was more pointing out the fact that there is nothing wrong with the search function providing it's used properly. biggrin.gif

And I was trying to be helpful by providing a link to the thread he was looking for. I wasn't trying to criticise the existence of your thread.

That said, while digging up ridiculously old threads is a no-no (I reckon > 6 months old is probably the starting point), I would say that reviving that thread from June would probably have been fine. But as I say, I'm not criticising. If I thought it was worth reporting as a duplicate topic I would have used the "report" button, but I haven't.

Just trying to be friendly and helpful.

Peace dude.

I think that mission was one of the best surprises Rockstar could give us, i mean just being able to revisit, even for that little time, an old game was incredible. Something tying IV and V should definitely be added as a surprise.
