It's not in New York. It will be 11 years ago soon. Not everybody is from the U.S. It's a f*cking game. GTA buildings are made of pure diamond and don't ever break.
We should never use that as an excuse to not let you do things in aircraft in video games. People have shot people with guns and they've died. Should we not make video games about shooting guns? Should every game be putt-putt's day at the zoo? |
I couldn't agree more. It's a f*cking game about KILLING people, get over it. It's ridiculous that we can be accepting of violence in games, music and movies, yet we get all flustered over HOW it happens. Enough with the righteous indignation, it's GTA for christ's sake. Truth be told, GTA is no longer the most outrageous game in existence anymore.

| QUOTE (Euda @ Thursday, Aug 16 2012, 20:21) | Hey Community, I recently thought about how awesome it'd be if we could actually take a flight tour as a PASSENGER of a big plane like the AT-400. I imagine getting a ride, cuisin' to the Los Santos International Airport, buying a flight ticket an view a scene of the take-off of the plane. -> Then you are in the plane's interior and walk in it and look out the window, then you'll turn the camera down and finally see the whole, beautiful and awesome map, with all it's citys, natures, little villages with low population and nice big desert landscapes. _ After you saw that "eye-gasm", you could make a parachute Jump from the plane, compare to the parachute jumps from just cause 2. _
Wouldn't that be awesome? | Draw distance would ruin the experience in normal circumstances, but as you've said rockstar could create some sort of cut-scene so you can see the city normally without the usual graphical issues, some sort of video.

I don't know, Putt-Putt's Day at the Zoo sounds like a pretty fun game. |
I used to love that game, when I was younger. Though the last time I played it, it only took me a half hour to beat it. |
Don't forget Putt Putt Travels Through Time.

And then fly the plane into the Los Santos tower? I don't think we want a 9/11 recreation here. |
And why not, exactly? It's not like you're hurting real people, it's just a game. Plus, 9/11 was a new york event! And I do believe GTA IV lets you use car bombs, so what's a plane crash or two? | When you look at the numbers of people murdered in car-jackings, robberies, hit-and-runs, gang fights and so on... you see that the number massively outweighs the number killed in 9-11. I'm certainly not taking away from the horror or tragedy of 9-11 as a single terrible event but in proportion there is more suffering going on every single day around the world. To follow the "no planes in GTA because of 9-11" argument to its natural conclusion one ends up thinking that GTA should have no guns, no crime, no cars, no peds, no planes, no tall buildings, no property, no nothing. I guess what I'm trying to say is that Rockstar should continue to use GTA to offer a cumulation of all the hell-raising scenarios that it's offered us over the years and that critics shouldn't use apalling real-world events to prevent them from doing so. And breathe.

Now stay on topic, we don't need this topic to get locked for no reason. | Yeah, sorry about that This was definitely a cool feature in San Andreas, you could parachute out too. It would be nice to see it re-imagined for GTAV in the way the OP describes, maybe rob a few passengers and then hijack the plane

| QUOTE (73duster @ Thursday, Aug 16 2012, 16:09) | | I love the idea of going through the motions of the entire airport experience. Purchasing a ticket, going through airport security, which could be hilariously inept, walking on board and sitting in your seat by the window. In RDR you could board the train and take a seat. You would then get a cinematic ride through the map. Flying would be epic, but it all hinges on how big the map truly is. | I hope I have more camera controls. I remember RDR gave me none. IV let me switch the cameras, but auto switched to a cinematic station view for the arrival because got forbid I get full camera control. RDR I think actually does let me switch cameras but still has some kind of camera slideshow going on, meaning it's auto switching so I have to constantly switch back to my favorite. Actually, I should play RDR again to see how the train camera works because I don't remember that well. Anyways, just let me manually switch the camera with no slideshow style auto switch crap and I'm good.
