What if the game is nowhere near completion and definitely far away from launch? The trailer may look complete but there's always the possibility that the game is so vast that they've only shown us what looks remotely presentable. What if they aren't giving us platforms, plot details or protagonists because the stage of development they're at,any of those can change? Perhaps we need to believe R* when they say that "we have nothing to show right now"? By this point I don't think V will come out before June '13 (FY14). T2 Will simply adjust their Earnings estimate to account for this.

I HOPE I'M WRONG THOUGH!

They probably have a lot of stuff they could show us. Thing is, do they really want to, and get a negative reaction because it's half done.

I don't think so. Rockstar is far enough into it if they already have made a trailer. Now if they only released two screenshots I would start to be concerned.

If that's the case take-two would get in deep trouble for SEC violations by wrongfully giving incorrect guidance and forecasts to shareholders.

I cant imagine the game would be that far behind after this long. There surely must be hundreds of possible screens that they could throw out there, without any spoilers etc.

I dont have a particular theory on why theyre acting like this. Its a bit bizarre.

I think it's clear to everyone who's not twelve that -- for whatever reason -- the game is nowhere near to hitting selves or even see the start of marketing. None of us want to admit it, though.

I don't think R* is "trolling" us, or that they've screwed anything up. The game's just not done yet. End of.

I think that after AT LEAST 2-3 years of development that they have more than a 1:25 trailer and two screenshots to show us.

It should be "We have nothing we are willing to show right now". They obviously have stuff there but they'll show it when they are ready.

Agreed on that. But to me that makes them sound like a bunch of beret-wearing pretentious tits. We kind of know at least the core of what to expect. And if V does turn to be radically changed up, then Ill gladly buy a beret of my own.

Are you kidding me?

The trailer was incomplete as f*ck, there was so many incomplete buildings and others landmarks that not even had textures yet.

Before GTA IV was delayed Rockstar announced a game with the name Agent. The game was developed by Rockstar North. That was in 2007 and in 2009 they gave us first info and a release date for October 2009 was announced. But then something went wrong. Either the game is cancelled or it's a PS4 exclusive now. So the earliest possible start of V's developement in my opinion was fall 2009/very early 2010. I just wanted to make this clear. tounge.gif Anyway for the people who said GTA V trailer looked like incompleted: Please show me some incompleted scenes. bored.gif The trailer is the evidence that GTA V isn't far away. That was 9 months ago so we can say that GTA V is in one of the very latest development stages. Unless there are some heavy developement problems which I doubt because Rockstar already made GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption which were big open-world games.

I strongly believe V will have been underway in some form in 08 or even before. Not to say they were beavering away building it all etc, but something experimental like Agent isnt going to interrupt the cashcow.

I think youre right on Agent itself though, looks like a next gen title now. If at all.

As for the trailer, it wasnt incomplete, but any studio can polish chunks of a map to show off. Plus there were a good few 'cut scene' type scenarios that wont be in the game. Having said that, I dont think V will slip past March. Especially after MP3 cost them a ton.

I don't think the game is nowhere near completion but they still have quite a bit of work to do. What we have seen so far probably only scratches the surface and until there is something significant to show, we won't get a bunch of info. I'm sure they would love to be able to show us something new but just aren't there yet. The next trailer will likely overwhelm us and once there is enough content ready to do so, we will have to wait.

Yeah, 5 years of development, more than 100 million dollar of development costs and sold (at best, because of digitally sales) 3.5 million copies. That's weak and that was probably the reason too why TakeTwo's stock dropped after Max Payne 3's release. By the way Rockstar NORTH hired a thousand game-tester in January. So I would say they're obviously for GTA V.

Like I've stated time and time again...just go with the flow. If you raise your expectations you'll get pissed off and turn into an asshole. I was one myself on the brink of trolling but i've recovered by accepting that R* is doing what they think is best. do we agree? Not really at this point but latter on we might. Shifty41s_beerhatsmilie2.gif

I also said that if the game is going to be as amazing as they're predicting, it does take time. i believe they're tweaking everything they can to make it THE best game in this Gen.

Let's give R* credit for keeping their games on the top of gamers must have titles. That's a great acomplishment if you think about it.

P.S. AND if i'm wrong then....i'm wrong, lol lol.gif lighten up

They have said both "We have nothing to show at the moment", and "Full development". Would be actually pretty funny if they haven't started the game though tounge.gif

Its possible, but developers usually only show there trailers if the game looks just like it, or else its False advertising, etc.

No, it's they don't want to show everything of their game.

Because it's their f*cking game and they'll show us what they want to.

Stop demanding more information. Whenever I find out too much about a game, I enjoy it less than I feel I should when it comes out.

If I didn't know Max Payne 3 had bullet time, I would've been like, "WHOA sh*t BULLET TIME THAT'S SICK", instead I said, "Oh, that's pretty cool."

Some developers pre-render their trailer. Rockstar is NOT one of them.
