Unless there's additional gameplay features, I see no reason to get a special edition.

People like you are a menace to the gaming community. All versions of a game should come with the same content. No additional gameplay in the Collector's Edition. It's bullsh*t.

On Topic:
In most cases, the money a store gets from a used copy of a game, usually goes to buy more new copies. So you're not doing anything to Rockstar, you're just helping out your local Best Buy/Game/Gamestop/EB/whatever.

If the CE comes with some sort of statue, then I'll buy it. (I really love collecting game statues.)

And you sir, aren't very smart..

Did he say the special edition should have additional gameplay features? No..
All he said was if it had additional gameplay it would be a reason for him to buy it. And whats wrong with that? I for one don't care about stupid statues, artbooks and all that sh*t. If they add some cool gameplayfeature however, I might be interested.

And why is it bullsh*t anyway? Why is a statue as an extra acceptable and something in the game not? In the psstore you can buy things you can use in the game, so why not add it to the collectors edition? Perhaps exclusive, perhaps for a pricereduction. God the ignorance here.

I've never bought a 'Special Edition' anything, as I find them to be overpriced & not very special. If any game is going to tempt me though, it's going to be this one.

The only R* game I ever bought second hand was EFLC & do feel a little guilty due to the many, many hours of enjoyment I got from it.

I haven't bought any collector's edition for any game yet, because they're usually nothing much of worth or interest to me IMO. But if they come out with a cool looking display model, maybe some extra stuff, like slightly souped up/different weapons or cars, then I might consider.

Look if you want to pay an extra $20-30 just to be able to use a special skin, or have access to something that should have been in the vanilla game, then by all means, be a dumbass and do so. But don't make everyone else have to pay $80+ dollars for the full game.

Most people thing the way you idiots do, and it's bullsh*t because of the points I made above. Statues/Artbooks/etc. are acceptable as extras because they are usually Collectables, which is pretty much the point of a Collector's Edition.

There is a ton of ignorance in this thread, but most of it is spewing from your head and through your fingertips. Cutter De Blanc, clearly thinks there should be in-game bonuses, as do you. It's bullsh*t because you guys are saying it's alright to cut content out of a finished game and sell it as a 'bonus.'

I'll only buy a special / limited edition if it doesn't get bigger than a blue-ray case similar to how it was done with Red Dead Redemption. I don't want a huge box with a t-shirt, art book, soundtrack and whatever they decide to put in those boxes. I don't need all that stuff and it takes up space on the shelf.

I will be very disappointed if R* give into the dark side of DLC & start hacking up the game for pre-order bonuses. They dabbled a little bit with RDR & the special store exclusive pre-order DLC outfits. I will have much respect if they only release a standard version & a Special Edition (Key Ring/Art book/couple of DLC outfits etc). EFLC & Undead Nightmare sized DLC is what I want & what I'm willing to pay good money for.

No, you just don't seem to be able to think logically. How ignorant can someone be? We didn't say it was ok to cut out content from the game, nor that we want additional gameplay for the special edition, not at all. You just lack the ability to think straight and make up your own truth.

He said: "Unless there's additional gameplay features, I see no reason to get a special edition." Which essentially means he's not interested in collectables. However, if there would be cool gameplay features he might buy it. I might too, depending on multiple factors. Did we somewhere say we want this to happen? NO.

That you're thinking that is already absurt by itself. Why would we wanna pay extra? Please think before you post. If they cut content from the game and add it to the special edition what are we going to do about it? He didn't say he wants this to happen, but if it happens he might buy it. You get it now or should I repeat? I also love the way you said "most people think like you" and "because of the points I made above". Obviously you think you're smart, but you just can't understand what other people think or mean + I'm pretty sure you only said it was "bullsh*t", good point yo.

Maybe they make something extra just for the special edition? Something that wasn't meant to be in the normal game in the first place or something that was cut out for good, but they decided to put it in the special edition. Whats wrong with that, or you just didn't think about that yet. Just something extra for the special edition buyers that wasn't deliberately cut from the regular game. For example, they cut out the buzzard out of multiplayer cause things would get out of hand. Then they decide to add it to the special edition cause than there would be less buzzard flying around, spamming people, but it would still be there, which is cool. Actually, that is something I would have liked. If it's like that, it would be fine by me.

Collectors Edition for Xbox on Day 1, probably by preorder.

Later a normal Version for PS.

That's also the way I did it with IV.

I'll wait and see what the special edition offers and if I have enough £ to spare then I'll get it. If it doesn't appeal to me or I don't have enough at the time then I'll just get the standard edition.

I hope the special edition includes a steelbook case, artwork, soundtrack, stickers or a discount on future DLC.

Discount on future DLC? Let's pray so Rockstar does not try to sell us DLC, let's pray so they try to sell us 1 or two BIG EXPANSIONS.

Because some statue, artbooks, concept arts or whatever are not part of the game itself, they are extra physical goodies. However, if they include some sort of additional 'online game modes', 'skins for multiplayer', 'exclusive to the limited edition playable character', etc., we should be pretty pissed with Rockstar because "the ones that pay more will get the full game" and "the others that pay the regular edition don't get the full experience".

Hope Rockstar does this the right way: the only extras they can offer with a 'limited edition' are those that are not part of the game, after all is the only thing that really matters.

Though I'm always a little wary when buying a new PC game, there can be so many issues like graphic driver bugs, PC crashing, hardware problems.

If I omit Bethesda and R* games, I had literally zero issues with games in the past 10 or so years. Of course, I a) keep my OS in a good condition b) read system requirements.

Well, to be perfectly honest, I did have a game breaking bug in Baldur's Gate II, however that was a mix of user made and official content, so it doesn't really count.

On topic, I'll probably have to wait a bit to get the game.

I think I'll be going for the limited edition, GTA games have never let me down so far and that's the only reason I don't usually buy them. It depends what comes with it of course.
