Hey, I started playing GTA IV (normal version on Steam) to around the mission called "That Special Someone". 2 Days later, i was just logging on casually just roleplaying and then my mate bought the game and wanted to play Live with me. In order for me to play Live, i had to install Rockstar Social Club and Games for Windows Live. I removed these 2 programs off my computer ages ago because I had problems trying to play and there was no other way for me. When i downloaded RSSC and GFWL, my GTA would start because it had corrupt files therefore it started re-installing.
After the install was done, we can play online and everything was perfect BESIDES i had to start the singleplayer game from start (The Cousins Bellick). I looked up a few forums and I saw that i can find the saves in my Documents/Rockstar Games/GTA IV/savegames.
I still have my old saves on my desktop ( i tried to delete the folder and save the first mission seeing if another folder will automatically be created ). I can't find the new saves on my computer anymore. I want to start playing the game from where i left off.
Additional information : I used to play Singleplayer offline for a month without a Rockstar Social Club account, and now i am forced to log in live everytime i load GTA. Can i somehow paste my old saves into a certain folder in my GTA/steam folders and load my game? Would help a lot and make my whole month!
Thanks in advanced, appreciated! Love.

| QUOTE (mkey82 @ Saturday, Aug 11 2012, 20:37) | | From what I understand, he hasn't actually lost files, he just can't load them. | That is correct, I have no idea how to load them because I dont really want to start from all over again, I could if there is no other way but it won't be anytime soon as i've just completed everything and i won't have that feeling anymore where i don't know whats going to happen next, etc..

| QUOTE (radioman @ Saturday, Aug 11 2012, 20:41) | | If your saves were created with Xliveless, than as Mkey said, the saves are NOT compatible with GFWL...So, you would have to use Xliveless in order to load those saves. Otherwise you are gonna have to start a new game, if you want to do it the GFWL way... | Alright, I just want to let you know that i have no idea on how to fix that, hence the reason why i am asking here. I had this problem where RSSC did not allow me to play GTA IV at all unless i downloaded xliveless which took me around 3-4 hours to do and i can't remember how I did it. I tried whatnot, uninstalling and reinstalling the game like 3 times, downloading xliveless etc. So in order words, in order for me to carry on where i left off, i will have to delete GFWL and download xliveless? If that is what you're saying, can you/someone please link me instructions of how to do that step by step and a correct link to xliveless and stuff. I am asking for too much but I am really frustrated. I am using Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and i bought the game legit from Steam for £20.00 if that helps. Thanks again everyone.
