Yeah I remember when the ban hammer came down hard on the RDR hackers, I used to play mp all the time and frequently came across players in deathmatch that were invisible, pretty hard trying to kill someone you can't see. BUT maybe it was just a glitch. edit: this was on ps3

I think that was a glitch. I remember in Freeroam that these people I couldn't see.

hmmm I've played A LOT of IV multiplayer on my PS3 and I haven't ever seen a single hacker

There are tons on the pc version to the point where they go around in gangs ruining it for everyone. I played on a server for about an hour with legit players then it just turned into a sh*tfest with explosions blowing up on command under your ahole on spawn with huge boats being spawned up everywhere eventually crashing the server. Iv'e got a feeling that this's why no one even bothers with ranked matches anymore on pc. It's a shame as it is now immpossible for me to rank up my character and unlock new things for it.

I only play Free mode(TLAD), witness protection(TLAD) and Races in TBoGT.

There r no cheaters on the PS3 version to mod/cheat u have to have custom firmware... and with that u will get banned and kicked if u enter PSN

That's how it is on the damn Xbox too. I was locked inside the airport (the area around the heliports) because of walls you could enter but couldn't exit and to make it worse they force locked all the damn helicopters/cars!

On the topic though I think/hope Rockstar is learning it's lesson from GTA IV and RDR, having a "cheaters lobby" for MP3 is a move in the right direction to me, GTA V would benefit greatly from such a lobby and for said lobby to work the user (us) should be granted the ablity to report cheaters to Rockstar directly ingame... not everyone will take the time to write up a damn email just to report one person! (Reporting to Microsoft just doesn't do sh*t) Regular updates also slow the cheaters progress of bypassing software.

One more note that needs to be mentioned is that they never ever make the online MP into gamesaves because that tore RDR asunder within months, level 50 Legend 5's everywhere! (Save it to the server dammit!)

In a IV multiplayer, I kept getting killed on the other side of the map by fire, he then decided to freeze my Xbox Twice, all because I ran him over.

Another guy yesterday kept doing the same to me aswell, do you want to know the reason why? I took a car off a ped, he saw me driving a car sent me a voice message saying "If you don't get out do that car, I'll keep killing you! I own eveything thing in this lobby!" I sent a message back saying "Well the game is kinda called Grand Theft Auto, so I'll nick cars if I want too!" He then sent a message back saying "If you don't get out of that car I'll keep killing you and the only way to stop me killing you is to sign a Peace Tritie!"

In terms of trainers, there should be a separate mode where you can use it in unranked matches and nowhere else. Free-mode with trainers greatly extended the lifetime of GTA IV MP for me, but it shouldn't affect people who want nothing to do with the cheats. One solution would be for Rockstar to provide their own sort of trainer which is only enabled in singleplayer (disables achievements etc) and the special free-mode and lock down the multiplayer files as tightly as possible.

Hackers need to be dealt with, though. Squish 'em all with a ban hammer.

i play on the PS3 and i've encountered two different players using the invincibility hack. i just had a run in with the second one last week. they are on the playstation. just cause some of y'all haven't experienced them, doesn't mean they aren't out there.

yes it very annoying... I got head shot from algonquin by a pistol and i was in the airport But i mostly go on multiplayer for friends and my clan.... We have 1 hacker in the clan but only so we can get patrol cars since you cant in the multiplayer

The only hackers I've encountered were people spawning ramps etc, that made that game even funner.
