Is the person in front of me hitting these poles & floating through them like a knife through butter, or is he not hitting them? If he's not hitting them, then why do they get knocked down, and why do I have to make the choice between driving around them or running them over, which can cause me to wreck? I feel like I'm sometimes being beaten by lesser drivers because they're able to do things that I can't do, like hit anything they want without consequence.

Will this apparent lag issue be improved upon in V?

I get this as well, but not much.

You have to remember, Liberty City is a big place, and it would be hard for the game to get the exact location on up to 16 people at once, and I guess sometimes its just a little bit off.

If it happens a lot, it might just be due to bad connection by you or the host etc. smile.gif

Why does the host's connection matter more than other players? Surely all they do is determine the settings?

It happens when I get in someones car too...

I think it's just the lag.

It doesn't happen in Red Dead as often, so I doubt it'll happen in V.

That was an assumption I made. I think it uses more Internet data when you're hosting the game so I thought it may have an effect if the host has a bad connection. smile.gif

Haha. If only GTA4 had dedicated servers.

Unfortunately, most games don't have dedicated servers. That means every bit of information regarding what happens in the game has to go through the host, then to the server. Not only does the host's connection matter, but it's what matters most.

I feel you, man. It's very frustrating, especially for someone whose favorite game mode is Races. -.-

It's like others destroy half of Liberty City, crashing into poles and traffic, and I have to pay for it, while it doesn't slow them down one bit. Fu**ing retarded.

At least it doesn't happen at low speeds. If it does, It's the driver.

This used to be an endless source of frustration for me too. Fortunately, I only race on TBOGT these days and it seems to be far more rare than on GTAIV. Interesting comment regarding host bandwidth though. I don't have the best connection in the world due to the fact I'm about 3.5km from my telephone exchange and we don't have Fibre Optic or cable options where I live so if I host a race, could I be making things worse for the competitors? Furthermore, which is more important - download or upload speeds? I tend to get around 2-3 megs download and around 0.5 meg upload speeds.
