Hi All,

i know am not a real 3d modder but extraordinary tools exist and help a lot wink.gif

thx a lot TERREUR69, TriDOOMER, GoodNTS, GTA RANDOM BLASTER NL EXXON STILLDRE and others...

This is DESERT STORM, where sand cover 85% of liberty city.

I've updated my old mods DESERT IV and add new maps

I wanted to use shaders, but too much time and i didnt have time, i did all this alone in 2 weeks

Far cry -1 lol, i try to put palm on an island, i tried to make jungle island but i didnt had time... so just palms and if somebody need to go to water closed, there's one also

In common/data folder of your game look for gta.dat and images.txt and every line which contain name maps or MAPS should be commented out by putting # at the beginning of this line smile.gif


For example

Great idea! But solid sand is not something really good, I think. I mean... the sand is solid, right? smile.gif There isn't another way of it to be, but maybe this abstract idea, I don't know if it would be accomplished - find a way to change the model of the procedural materials - like little rocks and stones on the road and pavement; also when you nuke a building - you see concrete pieces flying off everywhere. MAYBE, just maybe if there is a way to remodel these pieces into... I don't know, something more like sand, it would be great to add it later as a colission material onto your sand map. I really liked the idea. And yet now I can imagine a trailer about this mod with VFX added.

Personaly when I play this map, I'm gonna disable LC. With out LC, it will basically be Egypt.

Are you using GTA IV or EFLC?

In EFLC you will have to edit the content.dat and images.txt in both the TLAD folder and the TBoGT folder.

Just wanted to say that a buddy and I are enjoying your map a TON! We've spent the last few days just screwing around with a bunch of custom vehicles we added, and while I loved the base GTA IV game, there's nothing quite like driving up and over dunes with a friend flying by you in the air, haha. Our only problem is there seems to be a memory leak when running GTA with your map files installed. After 30-45 minutes, GTA likes to crash with an error message saying it's starving for memory. I'm not exactly sure how a memory leak would be caused by added geometry, but we get it nonetheless. It's no big deal though, and it might be one of the vehicles we have installed, but I just wanted to give you the heads up on that. Also, it seems like the specular map on the sand in the center of the map is all screwed up. It looks like you are driving on glass, haha. Anyways, congrats with all the attention you've got over the past few days. Can't wait to play some more!
