| QUOTE (JohnC2211 @ Wednesday, Aug 8 2012, 22:32) | Yes, in fact it appears to be worse than before. When I press start to bring up the pause menu, and then go back to game, pretty much all of the textures disappear.
For the -memrestrict command am I using the first number or second number?
E.g Resource usage: 700/1990 would I use 700x1024x1024 or 1990x1024x1024? |
If your Resource usage is 700 and your video memoey is 1990, then you should do this: 700x1990x1990=2772070000 so the code is 2772070000 i recommended you to collection the second number from the code with two and there will be 2972070000 This post has been edited by T-ru on Wednesday, Aug 8 2012, 23:13

Sorry, but that is rubbish! @JohnC2211, yes, 700 x 1024 x 1024 is correct. It gives the memory amount you use in bytes. This post has been edited by luceberg on Wednesday, Aug 8 2012, 23:45

It may be a laptop, but it's only around 6 months old and fairly high spec. It's a higher spec than the old Desktop that I used to run GTAIV on with no problems whatsoever. | Not saying that it isn't a powerful laptop but they are designed for efficiency in mind. 3DMark isn't a real game but it gives a basis of comparison. The 650M gets around 10k pts whereas the 2 year old Mid range 460GTX gets around 18k pts. Basically, it is equal to an upper budget card from the last few years so given how demanding and unoptimised GTA4 is then it is no wonder your system feels the strain. http://www.geforce.com/hardware/notebook-g...50m/performancehttp://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gp...460/performance
