What irritates me in previous GTA's is that pedestrians walk the street as if they just feel like stroling on the sidewalks and they dont have any purpose.

Some should walk faster than others, some with bags, backpacks. Actually go into cars that are parked or buildings, (which you should be able to enter as well).

they do that in IV =/

Ever follow a taxi with passengers in it? The passengers NEVER GET OUT wow.gif

Just like the npc and their groceries they just are walking around with

I was pretty sad when I realized NPCs didn't acknowledge me in IV. In SA people would react to you simply walking down the street. Bummer.

Well that is what real life is like. How many times do people say something to you while just walking down the street?

GTA 4 was a milestone in peds aspect
(they use phones, drive a train, window shop, get arested randomly...)
I hope V will make eaven more progress with npc's but respect the work done from SA to IV.

Exactly what he said. I can't agree more.

And where did you get that computer from signature?

I thought the NPCs in GTA IV really made the world seem alive. Did you ever watch a NPC pickup a hooker and then just follow them? It really increases the stalker skill. biggrin.gif

Would anyone else like to see the armoured money trucks to feature actual armed security personal who would attempt to protect the truck if you decide to try and jack it?
In IV they were drivin by civillians, but there was a security guard ped that was seen during multiplayer.

I just think apart from adding to the realism of the world, it could also provide a mini challange if we want to obtain the money from the truck.

In reply to the comment about some peds moving faster than others, yes that happens in SA. There is the old lady who shuffles slowly, then there's faster peds like the man and woman joggers and really fast peds on inline skates.
In a perfect world, I would love it if peds were doing more like going to work, swimming, playing with their dog or friends basically living their own life instead of just walking the same street then walking back and not really doing anything. It would make the city more 'alive' and for us to say 'yeah this is more like what I expected it to be' a living breathing city, filled with people doing their thing. Like you could follow a ped and see where they go, where they work or even dance with random hot chicks at a club then find out where they live and what they do. Just random stuff, something to do in between missions. Of course Im probably asking too much for them to include all of this into the game but it would be awesome if its really like this

I've been saying the same thing since San Andreas man. I've said all along that it would be cool and more realistic to have people actually doing day-to-day real life things, than just standing around. Why not have road crews working on roads, bridges, tunnels, etc. How about people going to and getting off of work. Car wrecks, where Paramedics, Fire and Police are on the scene. Fire trucks putting out fires. Human sacrifice. Cat and Dogs living together. Mass hysteria!

Pretty much every day, real world sh*t. And I could go on and on, but I'll leave it at that. 'Nuff said!

The peds for SA were quite advanced, you could follow them around and they'd go places and then go home.
This would have been negated in IV to put more time into building and perfecting the RAGE.

They know they need to re-implement it in an upgraded way.

Actually they do in a way. Considering Niko can bump into people they often say something obnoxious.

Anyway GTA IV was such a big leap which is still impressive today. Funnily enough the only game I'd consider to be more lively is RDR. While GTA IV was a big leap it's a shame peds don't pick up things they drop.

For its time had R* added this minor detail I'd say it would've been perfect in this aspect.

I thin R* has to improve on that. The good thing is: It doesn't take too much effort compared to the result.

Just imagine they would script another 100 or 200 little events that happen every day in every town: A policeman writing a ticket, someone complaining about the neighbours dog's sh*t on the sidewalk, some punks screaming "COME AT ME BRA!" pushing each other in front of a night club, a nice man helping an old woman across the street, people who haven't met in a while hugging each other in front of typical meeting points, a pizza delivery guy delivering pizza in the evening.

All that stuff gives you the illusion you are actually in a living breathing world. In RDR it wasn't that hard because doh, you're riding from town to town and in between there's mostly nothing of interest. Wildlife, trees and such. Stuff you would expect in the wild west. It felt real, believable.
It's harder to simulate a city but it's not impossible. Some scripted events of which there are so many that it takes time until you get used to them and it all becomes predictable.

What about bad stuff too?? People stealing cars, People get mug, People kill other people, Cop shootout. Make if feel more alive.

Yes, this!
However they already have conversations and jog in parks, so developing this feature shouldn't be too difficult.
