So I have a legitimate copy of the GTA: EFLC for PC
I wanted to play it again (wasn't able to play for months *college* suicidal.gif )
anyway, after installing EFLC, I downloaded the latest patch which is the 1.1.2.0 for the EFLC.
I installed it, but there are no EFLC shortcuts on the desktop. So I went to the game directory and
tried to launch LaunchEFLC.exe but it says "SecuROM launcher has stopped working"

Take note I am using Windows 7 x64 with the latest drive updates.
I have a stable connection, too.
What bugs me is the SecuROM which I have not encountered before.
Also, it bothers me that when installing EFLC, it did not ask for my serial code. (or does it ask for the
code just before the game launches? I forgot)

I also tried this:

QUOTE (MonkeySeeker;20578610)
Go to Programs & Features in Control Panel
On the left click View Installed Updates
HOPEFULLY it should appear in the list here and you can just click it and uninstall it like you would any program.

The problem is it doesn't ALWAYS appear in the list.

So this is what I found by searching:

Open a command prompt (press the Windows Key + R and in the box type cmd and hit enter).
In the command prompt type (or copy/paste) the following: FORFILES /P %WINDIR%\servicing\Packages /M Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-*9.*.mum /c "cmd /c echo Uninstalling package @fname && start /w pkgmgr /up:@fname /norestart"

This alone made the game run but on restart IE9 was back  and the game stopped working again. However I went back to Programs and Features > View Installed Updates and IE9 was now in the list and could be uninstalled properly.

It did not work. sad.gif

Do not bump a few hours old topics.

It asks for the key on the first launch, IIRC.
Do you have any disk emulation programs like daemon tools? If yes, uninstall them.
On the game disk, you should have a redistributables or extras or install or something else along those lines titled folder, in which you should be able to find VC++ libraries, in the form of a file labeled vc_setup.exe or something similar. Those libraries need to be installed for Securom to work correctly.
