On the vehicle handling, GTAIV is still the best in my opinion in comparison to the rest. Had a try once of the latest Saints Row... doesn't come close.
Plus the fact that it syncs so well in multiplayer, which is a big thing they take into consideration when coding it. Racing games which are just based on racing often syncs horrible in comparison, although I suppose they have a lot more going on in that they have to simulate a great many type of vehicles and various other variables.
That said, every major epic release of GTA had updated vehicle tech, and I'm sure we'll see some significant advancements in GTAV - in comparison to GTAIV which was coded largely 5-7 years ago.
For characters, not being able to stand on moving platforms such as vehicles was certainly a limitation which arose with Euphoria... but I think it would have anyway been difficult when you take, again, multiplayer synchronization into account (it would be fine if the character just crouches down and never moves, but as soon as he starts walking on a moving vehicle that becomes difficult to sync between players). Take for example trains in Red Dead Redemption, which they didn't add in multiplayer because of the difficulties of syncing moving Euphoria powered players on a dynamically moving platform.... just wasn't priority I imagine.
We'll see how far they've come. If they did fix that, they deserve awards just for that alone.

I had absolutley no problem with the controls, I loved them, Took some time to get used to in the beginning, but after a while, I perfected it, I loved driving motorbikes, I think it had great controls, but of course there is always something to improve upon, so I guess we will see better handling and such... as for the helicopter on PC and console, it was great. I don't see the problem with it all...

What the hell are you talking about? They aren't going to include all that crap into GTAV. | Right, the rumors come from the Team Bondi head Brendan McNamara (Rockstar 'looking at LA Noire face tech,' "I think they're looking at it for every game."), who said it in a try to reestablish a good relation with R*,a relation broken during the infernal development of LA noire. "I've heard a lot about Rockstar's disdain for Team Bondi, and it has been made quite clear that they will not publish Team Bondi's next game. Team Bondi are trying to find another publisher for their next title, but the relationship with Rockstar has been badly damaged...," R* source. "Part of the conflict between Team Bondi and Rockstar was due to Rockstar's frustration with Team Bondi's direction, and eventually Team Bondi's management in turn resented Rockstar for taking lots of creative control. It's also worth pointing out that Rockstar used to be very keen on making Team Bondi something like 'Rockstar Sydney' – the more they worked with Team Bondi management, the more they came to understand that this was a terrible idea." GTA V will not use L.A. Noire's MotionScan Tech.

| QUOTE (zakace @ Tuesday, Aug 7 2012, 22:22) | | QUOTE (sublimelabs @ Tuesday, Aug 7 2012, 10:12) | I don't get the vehicle control hate. I found it to be the closest an open-world game like GTA has gotten to top-notch driving and car designs. Yet, of course, there's always room for improvement. |
I agree the car handling in GTA4 is fantasic in my opinion, makes driving around feel so nice. If they were to make it like Saints Row or San Andreas vehicle handling it would take away a lot of the fun of going for a cruise around! |
The driving physics are fine. It's easy to drive in GTA IV without crashing into everything. Honestly it makes the GTA III era look like a joke aswell as a few later sandbox games. IMO the hate comes down to some simply not being able to get a handle on it. Not because it's actually bad. Think of it when people say a particular sport sucks. Chances are they tried it themselves and were no good. I guess it's in our nature to complain about something we're sh*t at. This post has been edited by Miamivicecity on Tuesday, Aug 7 2012, 11:31

Yes,Team Bondi is kaput since august 2011 and has sold its assets and intellectual property to Kennedy Miller Mitchell ,KMM, a Sydney production studio that works across a range of media, including games.
The last try to save the Team Bondi was when Brendan McNamara spoke about that Rockstar was considering the implementation of L.A Noire's MotionScan face capture technology in all of its new games. These news are from July 2011.
By early september 2011 Team Bondi closed its doors and entered administration. | oh yeah that's right. Forgot about that. KMM is the director of Mad Max' company. Could be good if they have serious plans to make games
