 Stops, wrecks, lane closings.

Traffic laws, NO. Traffic jams, YES! As long as they are rare, i think it not only adds realism, but also adds a challenge. Imagine getting caught up in a traffic jam on the highway during a chase, and having to get out and navigate your way through the pile up of cars. You could have several motorists arguing and shoving each other. You could see an accident in the other lane. You could work your way up front and steal another car to get away.
Again, i don't want to see a traffic jam every time i'm on the freeway, but if it's a rare occurence, that would be pretty cool. Also, it's supposed to be like L.A., so NOT having it in there wouldn't make sense. We need to see reminders of L.A.

It'd be cool to see cops piull people over for speeding just for them to have a massive gunfight.

As long as I don't get wanted stars for speeding or vehicular hit and run I'm fine with it.

Oh nah thats gamebreaking im talking more or less emergency activity regarding your antics or the antics of mindless driving Santonian's causing major backups. No rules of the road bullsh*t just NO lol

I could see where you are talking about having some sort of checkpoint on the roads late at night working like the toll booths in GTA IV. If you stop and pay, then you pass. If you just rush through without paying, you become wanted by the police. I think this would work for a checkpoint system because if you just drive on by like the cops aren't even there, then they will obviously go after you, but if you stop and pass their test(s), then you go on with you're in-game life. smile.gif

I'd already be pretty happy if we finally got a decent amount of traffic on the roads.. not like Star Junction with 4 cars and a bus on it. dozingoff.gif

Anyone play GTA IV? If yes, then has anybody noticed that people sometimes drive around the city in semi-totaled cars after getting in accidents and managing to drive away? I always found that kind of odd. As for the AI, it looks bad and broken in it's own unique way in the debut GTA V trailer.

I want the traffic to be as close to Los Angeles traffic as possible. There was too little traffic in IV.

Just don't get a star or 2 for speeding, I'm fine with it. Like in Mafia II, you get a wanted lever when speeding over 40 or 60. Really hard to do stunt and other things and since Gta V had a really big city.

sorry for switching the topic.

It would be cool to see after affects of your actions. What about generic radio reports and those overhead electric boards. They could report stolen cars, backups and other newsworthy topics.

bumping this thread.

But yeah i was thinking exactly that. Well, not that the things the boards would say would have to do with the player, but the electronic message board should look like this:

user posted image

and it would have things like "heavy traffic ahead, tune to *radio station* for info"
(which is why in V they should have a radio station SPECIFICALLY for just news, weather, traffic reports, celebrity gossip, etc. haha)

That would be really cool in my opinion. Just imagine, driving down the freeway all chill and cool, and suddenly you see the electronic sign and it said heavy traffic ahead and you're like "aw sh*t" and either wait in traffic or take an alternate route.

idk that would be interesting, because the freeways are functioning like ACTUAL freeways.

I would love to see an option for high density traffic. I know GTA IV had one, but even on high density it didn't seem busy enough for Liberty City. I know console limitation have an effect and all, but I think it would be cool.

I know, almost a different game for it. But there's no confirmation on PC version.. so that may take another year on top of the year it already seems to (f*ckin) take. mad.gif And I work behind a desk with a PC all day so I'm looking to spend all night there as well. I don't care if a console is limited.. a guitar is pretty limited too.

As the array of rumors that spewed on about this game have since ceased I recalled one that made me envision an extremely down home realistic way of integrating Los Santos (Los Angeles) freeway activity. As I've heard in many movies and pop culture LA has some of the most dangerous and crowded stretches of freeways in the USA possibly the world.

If the rumor for real time traffic and weather reports are to be true, along with the 48 hour police searching. Do you guys think it would be feasible to integrate police check points, closed lanes for evidence and clean up from high speed chases and accidents, even DUI/DWI sting areas along Los Santos freeways? This would make you dreadfully scared but leave room for extreme fun especially if you dared venturing the city after you went on murder spree and or a high speed chase and got away.

this wouldn't make me scared I'd go and seek a chase from the cops but I'd like to see the cops use a spike belt to try stop me happy.gif

Realistic traffic is something I would very much welcome in the game such as heavy traffic in certain spots/randomly on the freeways, random police chases etc. What I DO NOT want though is for me to have to follow traffic rules. I do not want to be forced to be cautious after I kill someone and am driving around the city. If I kill someone, and lose the cops, that's that, no more worrying about the cops until I do something like that again. I don't want to be freaking out driving around the city with no stars waiting to randomly get a wanted level again. Also, if you kill someone in a remote area in the wilderness and no one is around, you should not get any stars. In GTA IV, sometimes when I killed a ped and no one was around for miles, all of a sudden I'd have 1 star and the red/blue police circle on the minimap around me.

That's one thing that used to always really annoy me, but as far as I can remember it's happened on every GTA to date.

Come on guys think of other ideas, how about realistic drunk drivers and spotting Peds getting a sobriety test on the side of the road, nice way to parody the celebrities out in LA getting DWI's.

The speed has to be extremely altered as well, in GTA IV the flow of traffic was at a snails pace when in all trueness traffic in New York City is known to be dauntingly fast and agressive. In San Andreas I felt they hit it on the head with how the speed of traffic was issued differently in an assortment of areas across the state, such as traffic by LSX or the LV freeway.

What if you have a 4 star wanted level and and new choppers begin hovering above you like in San Andreas and if you switch your camera view one of them makes it look like your on Live TV and it would look like OJ Simpson's chase
