Traffic laws, NO. Traffic jams, YES! As long as they are rare, i think it not only adds realism, but also adds a challenge. Imagine getting caught up in a traffic jam on the highway during a chase, and having to get out and navigate your way through the pile up of cars. You could have several motorists arguing and shoving each other. You could see an accident in the other lane. You could work your way up front and steal another car to get away. Again, i don't want to see a traffic jam every time i'm on the freeway, but if it's a rare occurence, that would be pretty cool. Also, it's supposed to be like L.A., so NOT having it in there wouldn't make sense. We need to see reminders of L.A.

Oh nah thats gamebreaking im talking more or less emergency activity regarding your antics or the antics of mindless driving Santonian's causing major backups. No rules of the road bullsh*t just NO lol | I could see where you are talking about having some sort of checkpoint on the roads late at night working like the toll booths in GTA IV. If you stop and pay, then you pass. If you just rush through without paying, you become wanted by the police. I think this would work for a checkpoint system because if you just drive on by like the cops aren't even there, then they will obviously go after you, but if you stop and pass their test(s), then you go on with you're in-game life.

It would be cool to see after affects of your actions. What about generic radio reports and those overhead electric boards. They could report stolen cars, backups and other newsworthy topics. |
bumping this thread. But yeah i was thinking exactly that. Well, not that the things the boards would say would have to do with the player, but the electronic message board should look like this: and it would have things like "heavy traffic ahead, tune to *radio station* for info" (which is why in V they should have a radio station SPECIFICALLY for just news, weather, traffic reports, celebrity gossip, etc. haha) That would be really cool in my opinion. Just imagine, driving down the freeway all chill and cool, and suddenly you see the electronic sign and it said heavy traffic ahead and you're like "aw sh*t" and either wait in traffic or take an alternate route. idk that would be interesting, because the freeways are functioning like ACTUAL freeways.

If you are playing on PC this is not a problem, but consoles have limitations....... | I know, almost a different game for it. But there's no confirmation on PC version.. so that may take another year on top of the year it already seems to (f*ckin) take. And I work behind a desk with a PC all day so I'm looking to spend all night there as well. I don't care if a console is limited.. a guitar is pretty limited too.

Realistic traffic is something I would very much welcome in the game such as heavy traffic in certain spots/randomly on the freeways, random police chases etc. What I DO NOT want though is for me to have to follow traffic rules. I do not want to be forced to be cautious after I kill someone and am driving around the city. If I kill someone, and lose the cops, that's that, no more worrying about the cops until I do something like that again. I don't want to be freaking out driving around the city with no stars waiting to randomly get a wanted level again. Also, if you kill someone in a remote area in the wilderness and no one is around, you should not get any stars. In GTA IV, sometimes when I killed a ped and no one was around for miles, all of a sudden I'd have 1 star and the red/blue police circle on the minimap around me.
