I have always used standard, but recently I tried original. What are the pros/cons of both and which do most people go for?

I wasn't aware there was this option. I'll assume "original" is the PS2 controls. Having used both though I prefer the "standard", as it feels more natural using the shoulder buttons to accelerate and fire, as it mimics the real-life actions more than the PS2 controls.

Perhaps, but I've been told that you can shoot faster using X (or O, which ever one it is) as apposed to R2?

Yeah that's probably true as you can put more force on it with your thumbs. Using R2 however frees up your thumb to aim etc.

I use Classic controls. I can handle cars better and I just can't get get used to Standard controls.

I use original because its more understandable and more like the classic GTA titles.

Couldn't get used to the Standard controls so I switched it to Classic.
