EA have decided to sue Zynga over The Ville for looking a whole lot like The Sims, as the image in the quote below shows. What y'all think about that? http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/08/03...nd/#more-118754| QUOTE | EA have announced tonight they’re planning to sue Zynga, over the similarities between the recently released The Ville, and Maxis’ The Sims Social. It’s not the first time that Zynga has released a game that looks astonishingly similar to another company’s game, but it’s the first time they’ve met an opponent big enough to fight back. We’ve seen an internal EA memo that tells staff that while they are pursuing this because they believe they’re legally in the right, they’re also doing it because they believe it’s time to be “taking a stand”. It says that even if they were to lose, “we will have made a point.”
 | http://www.joystiq.com/2012/08/03/ea-sues-...-over-the-ville| QUOTE | EA has filed a lawsuit against Zynga over The Ville, alleging that the social games giant is "in clear violation" of copyright laws.
"The legal reasons are solid. But for creative teams who feel that their hard work and imaginations have been ripped off, there's obviously an emotional element too," wrote Maxis general manager Lucy Bradshaw. "As outlined in our complaint, when The Ville was introduced in June 2012, the infringement of The Sims Social was unmistakable to those of us at Maxis as well as to players and the industry at large."

I'm personally backing EA for this, there's taking elements of other games and then there's downright plagiarism. Its time someone took Zynga down frankly.

| QUOTE (Gtaghost22 @ Saturday, Aug 4 2012, 06:27) | It's no wonder people hate EA/Activision. Greedy ass companies, f*ck them | What? How can you bring that up in this topic? EA has all the right to sue them in this case.
We all hate EA, but don't blind yourself with hate.

Did you even read the article ghost? | I doubt he even looked at the photo judging from what he said. Probably read the title and replied. I also agree that EA is 100% in the right, even if they are greedy, having someone copy them in just about every detail is unfair, people need to learn a lesson here, and EA is doing just that. Good on them for once.

| QUOTE (ccrogers15 @ Saturday, Aug 4 2012, 07:08) | Oh wow. EA is so dumb. Zyngas products suck sure, and i despise how my facebook friends keep sending me cityville invites. I hate it. But ea is no better.
You dont see Rockstar trying to say Volition infringed copyright by making a driving game very similar to GTA SA do you? Sure saints row 2 is awesome and it has alot of cool features of its own, but it DID copy rockstar in lots of ways. | It's not the same...

So who is really to blame here? I would like to see what Zynga showed to Facebook, etc in-order to get on the band wagon. Zynga should rename Privacy Ville Piracy Ville.
