Highly unlikely...thats well known glitch happened to me couple of times..just remember to save more often and you will be fine | I'm not sure how it works on PS2, but on PC, you don't need to randomly type one of the many known cheat codes. You just need to type in one of the many possible key combinations that produce a specific hash that triggers one of these cheats. When they discovered the PC cheats they found the hashes in game memory, and then ran programs that calculated the hashes from keystrokes. When they found a match it was recorded, and later they looked through the results hoping to find something that looked like "plain text" that describes what the cheat does; like ROCKETMAN for a jetpack. For each of the "random text" cheat codes they had pages of possible key combinations. Fortunately this glitch is fairly rare, but it's not as incredibly unlikely as you might think.

| QUOTE (Kyle17) | | the game glitches & spawns a rancher infront of me & says "cheat activated". I never entered a damn code & as I said earlier, I didn't save & now I can't. |
If you're on PC, you could have eliminated any risk by creating a new save file instead of overwriting an already existing one. However, I've always saved with "Lock wanted level", "Infinite ammo", "Infinite oxygen", "Never hungry" and "Infinite health" cheats, overwriting the same file again and again and never had any problem. But I'm on PC, and I don't know anything about consoles, nor do I know on what you play the game. Saving after using cheats may be dangerous on consoles. I've had similar occurrences: the "Cheat activated" sign appears out of nowhere and my armor disappears. This happens extremely rarely, though. It has happened only 2 or 3 times so far. The certain cause: I accidentally triggered the suicide cheat . This removed my armor, but didn't kill Carl; that's because I had previously activated the "Infinite health" cheat intentionally.
