Ok hi there,

For a couple days now I've been trying to get the game look as realistic as possible, but each time I fail. I've tried different mods but I never get the result I want.
So I would like to know which mods to use, which ENB, and stuff (not cars and characters) just the main things to make the game look as realistic as possible like this:

I've already tried this: Install GTA4 - Install 1.0.4.0 - Install RealizmIV 6.2 - Install iCEnhancer 2.1 - Install Ultimate Textures 2.0 but I don't get the result like that.

I like the vivid in his picture and the sharpness and clean etc. No bloom, no glow etc.
Those just look like eating them.

you have to edit enbseries.ini that runs the same fuction as the visualsettings.dat but when you install enbseries or icenhancer(any graphic mod)
the visualsettings.dat is unused by the game,the enbseries.ini take it's work.
ini files can be edited with notepad.(dont know why im telling that, you must already know).
if this doesnt help you, you can post here so they can certainly help you.

first ensure yourself this is real in game shot and not an edited one . then , well i never tried ENBs but for me if you are in search of realism rendering , you should rather search fps than high res textures . i play at 40 - 60 fps and when smooth it's difficult to see difference between game and reality , it's not that is difficult it's almost impossible

@aacclapd: Yesterday we saw an awesome ENB, namely XC3 Enb v1.0 by xCandiolaro but it lagged pretty much for us. Then we decided to use iCEnhancer 2.1 again. So my friend and I have been tweaking the original iCEnhancer 2.1 files and this is the result.



It's not really what we want but it's playable (round 30fps). And btw , thanks for the info about visualsettings.dat, we didn't know that. But it's odd that some ENB include it.

But what we really want is like the one of Simple999. His pictures are always so clean, so vivid, so sharp and so real, just what we want. The only thing we're afraid of is that the performance will be poor IF we will have the same result.

But if I'm right, Simple999 will soon release his ENB but I could be wrong. I think I read it in some posts of his like SIMPLE999 ENB COMING SOON.

Does anyone know how I can fix this? I always get it when I start the game, but then I have to do ALT+TAB out of the game and come in and it's fixed. But it's anoying me lool ;D

And I'm using nvidia (Geforce GTX 550 Ti)

Hmm it's weird though

I just installed GTA4; Patch 1.0.4.0; some texture mods like manhattan, viva, dtk70 road and ultimate textures; IcEnhancer 2.1 with some adjustments for car reflection and lens flare.

But I did notice I could just fix it by changing to Noon or any other time with the trainer or the ALT+Tab method.



And I'm not thinking of changing of ENB/Icenhancer yet. Only if I know a graphics mod that makes everything look so natural and realistic and which has good performance as my FPS has some issue's already.
I've got an i7 processor btw the 2600 or something, 8gb ram and GTX 550 Ti

If you want realistic, you'll have to upgrade your computer components or make do with the loss in FPS, or optimize your system. Optimizing goes a long way. I'll try to come back when I have time to type more. Here's a couple to get you going.

Nvidia Control Panel 3D Settings:
-PreRender Frames: 2 or 1
-AntiAliasing: Off
-V Sync: On

Commandline.txt file:
-norestrictions
-noprecache

Commandline.txt file (run in windowed mode if you want - adjust to dimensions you want)
-norestrictions
-noprecache
-windowed
-width 1920
-height 720

Open command prompt, cd.. until you get to C:\ then type (uncompresses all files):
compact /u /s /a /i /f

Remove any backup software.
Remove Skype and any other garbage starting up and showing up in your system tray.
If you're running an Nvidia card, make sure you have Precision or another fan control program installed to turn up the fan speed manually.
Only mod one or two cars at a time. Doesn't matter the computer, once you get many modded cars, traffic and performance sucks. Traffic sucks period until you use stock cars / 1 light modded car added in.
Set "Shadow Density" to 3 or 1 in Graphics Options (In Game)
Set "View Distance" to 12 or 20 in Graphics Options (In Game) (If you're running iCEnHancer)
I haven't noticed much of a slow down using most texture modifications. Until I loaded in Lord Neophytes HD Star Junction textures. I am very unsure of the accuracy of that statement though.

Simple999 has started from Dpeasants settings. It just contains tonemapping. If you want a basis go with dpeasants open beta.

Wow, thanks for the time you took there PacketOverload. I'll try it all in a few minutes.

This is my current commandline.txt, I don't know where I have it from though and I'm not even sure if I should even use these ..

I did windowed because sometimes when I did ALT+TAB and clicked the GTA4 icon again, it said GTA4 has stopped working but I'll try the things you suggested there.

Btw my monitor is 1920x1080, should I use the 720 or keep mine?



compact /u /s /a /i /f in C:\ doesn't seem to work, guess the file is missing?

I only have Q3EMinimizer, and Hamachi in my tray that arent really needed and most of the time I close hamachi so this is ok.



About precision. My fan is actually making lots of noise but not like screaky noise, more like hard wind noise as I can hear it from downstairs or the bathroom.
But the weird part is that its only at 30% as you can see here.




And too bad about the cars but I do understand as when I spawned all the cars next to eachother , it aaaaaaaate FPS lol.

But again thanks for all the info ! I'll try it all when I get back from doing stuff.



and sibs, I think I've downloaded dpeasents enb once but I don't think I've actually tried it. But now I defenityly will !
