I hope they don't. Then it would be like DiRT Showdown. That would ruin the game and the entire racing part of the game.

Not heard anything on a new GRID game and it is being released in a few days. I'll probably get it. I enjoyed the first GRID and played quite a lot on that.

@LazyboyEight: I loved all the DiRT games and liked the fact that they weren't too different from each other. A bit more change would have been nice but I enjoyed them for what they were. They were slightly easy though, even with the hardest difficulty on, imo.

About damn time I think. Love GRID. Love being able to run my own racing team. Just hope they make the physics more realistic this time around.

Why does everyone say DiRT has been ruined?
I think DiRT 3 is an awesome game, the rallying aspects are very good and it looks very sharp and clean and such.

As for the Gymkhana, I'm a huge Ken Block fan so to my opinion they can only throw in more Gymkhana and drift happy.gif
But that's just taste I guess. That's also why I do agree that Showdown was quite a lot less, but a friend of mine loves it ... purely because he loves demolition derby turn.gif

About this game ... I don't think I'm going to get it.
In my opinion, GRID is more of a random race game and I love rally and Gymkhana, so ... icon14.gif

Why, though? It's not actually motorsport. I mean, competitive championships exist, but nowhere on the scale of conventional rallying or even autocross, so to me it seems entirely illogical that such championships would invite professional drivers driving 500+bhp modified rally cars to compete. The people who do it, do it for fun, usually with ghetto-built AWD turbo Subarus and Audis. It has no place in a motorsport game as it isn't a regulated motorsport.

Look at the fourth link down. It's the official GRID 2 website I suspect, but in the description it says The Race Returns Summer 2013, so I'm guessing that's the release date.

Sounds about right, the team is probably concentrating on F1 2012 which has a September release, then slightly shift focus on F1 All Stars which has a November release. Then after that they can go all out on GRID 2 for a June release, still a bit of a wait then.

I never said make it a sim? I just said make it a tad more realistic. Big difference, i'll still love the game either way.

There was a lot of street racing in that. I was glad when I saw an actual track but almost 90% of that was street stuff. I hope they do proper track events and Le Mans still.

The trailer was okay, but there are losts of rumors that don't sound so good confused.gif Allegedly, cockpit view was removed from the game, and there will be no Porsche, Lamborghini and Ferrari cars! Confirmed cars so far: Mach 1 Mustang, BMW E30 M3, McLaren MP4-12C, Mercedes SL65 AMG, BAC Mono, Pagani Huayra, Koenigsegg Agrea R.
On the upside though, there will be splitscreen mode.

for release on the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in summer 2013 .
Chicago,Miami and Paris, the first of the game's new locations confirmed.

Grid 2 has been in development for two years, and is built using the latest version of Codemasters Racing's Ego engine.

"Grid's back and we're going to make street, track and road racing exciting again," said executive producer Clive Moody.

"The core design philosophy for Grid 2 is that we treat the race as a character, not a consequence of simply putting cars on tracks. Everything that goes into the game impacts on that second-to-second, in the moment, blockbuster drama - the feel and personality of the race."

He added: "We're pushing boundaries once again with what can be accomplished in the genre via new tools, technology and innovations. In single-player, split-screen and online, the next-generation of the Ego Game Technology Platform will power graphics, AI, handling and damage advancements that will immerse players in the racing experience like never before. Like its predecessor, Grid 2 will put the sheer thrill and adrenaline rush of the race at the heart of the experience. It's what we call Total Race Day Immersion."

Grid 2 builds on the handling model from Grid using the new TrueFeel Handling System. This uses real physics to "hit a sweetspot" between accessibility and simulation.

The game spans three continents: USA, Europe and Asia, and takes in cities including Paris, Abu Dhabi and Miami (as well as the California coast). Expect licensed circuits, fancy city streets and mountain roads.

On the multiplayer side there's a new progression system that features customisation and integration with Codemasters Racing's online community portal RaceNet.

The world's first Grid 2 hands-on opportunity will be at Eurogamer Expo 2012, which runs at London's Earls Court from 27th-30th September.

It will be playable throughout the four days of the show, and its developers will dish the dirt on the racer during an exclusive developer session, called Grid 2: Total Race Day Immersion, on Saturday afternoon at 3pm.

Eurogamer operations director Tom Bramwell said: "We got a chance to check out Grid 2 at Codemasters' offices last week ahead of today's announcement and it looks amazing. We can't wait for people to play it.

"It's also going to be fantastic to hear from the developers about what they're attempting with the game and see some of their work in progress during the developer session."
