Why is swearing censored? It's not like in GTA they censor swearing or anything, and I think it's pretty safe to say that everyone here has played Grand Theft Auto.

Whilst that is true, GTA has an 18+ rating, the forum doesn't. I'm pretty sure that it has something to do with keeping advertisers happy, too.

I don't think it necessarily has anything to do with advertising, I know forums that are ad sponsored and allow swearing at least in designated areas. I believe it has more to do with the fact that underage people are allowed here as well.

Some swear words like twat aren't censored. C*nt is a very similar word to twat, but it is censored. That's a bit confusing.

c*nt, sh*t, f*ck are the only swear filters which I've noticed till yet.
A '*' doesn't change anything though.

Twat also means - a man who is a stupid incompetent fool.
So they decided to keep it uncensored as it can be widely used in the V section in a non-vulgar way.

It either has something to do with the Ads ToS or the Hosting's ToS.

But who cares. Everyone knows how to mentally replace the asterisk with the correct vowel.
