I was going to wait for more answers, but it's late here and I wanna stop before I start saying sh*t.
I just asked this because since the first "deep trailer analysis", tons of topics appeared complaining about protagonist being a father, being old, having one or more than one protagonist... generally ending with the comment "if it's going to be like this, I won't buy it!"
Now, the question that I won't read the answers now, but I'll keep track of them tomorrow: if you discover the protagonist is a father, and at a certain level this will affect gameplay (that is, his son/daughter can be the subject of a mission for example, different from Niko's mother who only "appears" in emails), would you still play the game?

I'll answer both questions here. First of all I would not buy GTA V if the protagonist was homosexual. It would mean no prostitutes, boyfriends, gay jokes and a lot of camp people most the time that i can't stand. Now onto the next question. I'd play the game if the protagonist was a farther period. It doesn't matter to me that he is a dad because he could still go to strip joints, have girlfriends, pick up prostitutes and so on. His son/daughter involved in missions would be cool also(assuming they are 16+) and would make some missions more personal. This post has been edited by wwinterj on Saturday, Aug 4 2012, 02:48

| QUOTE (Flint-007 @ Friday, Aug 3 2012, 02:15) | Sorry, but it's been bothering me ever since the trailer came out that people automatically assume that the trailor narrator (and most likely our protagonist) is a family man. The entire quotation can be taken as a hypothetical, or that it is yet to happen. Just look:
"Be a good guy for once, a family man, So, I bought a big house, came here, put my feet up, Thought I'd be a dad like all the other dad's, My kids, will be like the kids on TV, we play ball and sit in the sun, But, well, you know how it is."
He doesn't have to have kids, he is just expecting that he will. Also, for those of you who claim the "FPS playing son" from the RAGE casting call is his son, why would he want to play ball with him? That kid is supposed to be 17-18. You don't play ball in the yard with an 18 year old.
Its his fantasy. He wants to come to LS to fulfill it.
| i always thinked of this also,he didn't need to be a father, maybe that's what he want's/wanted when he got to LS.

Would y'all play as a gay protagonist? |
Hell no |
That's interesting though, why not? |
People want a viril character, not a feminized version of a male. Might as well have a woman as a protagonist. |
Just because a man likes other men, it doesn't make him feminised. The question was 'would you play as a gay character?', not 'would you play as a camp character?'. There is a difference.
