Sorry, but it's been bothering me ever since the trailer came out that people automatically assume that the trailor narrator (and most likely our protagonist) is a family man. The entire quotation can be taken as a hypothetical, or that it is yet to happen. Just look:

"Be a good guy for once, a family man,
So, I bought a big house, came here, put my feet up,
Thought I'd be a dad like all the other dad's,
My kids, will be like the kids on TV, we play ball and sit in the sun,
But, well, you know how it is."

He doesn't have to have kids, he is just expecting that he will. Also, for those of you who claim the "FPS playing son" from the RAGE casting call is his son, why would he want to play ball with him? That kid is supposed to be 17-18. You don't play ball in the yard with an 18 year old.

Its his fantasy. He wants to come to LS to fulfill it.

I agree I'm guessing if the protagonist is a De Silva it will be Simon not Albert, it makes more sense that way since he would be envious that Albert has a familly and had hopes he could have the same but obviously something happens to pull him back into a life of crime.

I'm not saying he doesn't have children, or that it can't be taken literally. I'm just saying that it isn't cut and dry that he has kids, it has the potential to be either.

I don't get why people keep bringing that up, you hear multiple people in that trailer including John, not to meantion they're two different game franchises. The GTAIV trailer had one narrator similar to V's trailer and he ended up being the main character.

If he isn't a father at release date, I will bang so many hookers with his character that by the second year I own the game the real problem of having so much money and nothing to spend it on will be eliminated by in game child support payments.

Basically I care not whether he is a father or not. It will have nothing to do with missions or f*cking around the city unless R* attempts to pull some family heart strings in the game mixed with some action *cue TAKEN trailer*

But Albert de Silva is just a rumoured name from that Rush thing, it's not confirmed.

It's just annoying how people seem to be jumping hoops to disprove the idea of having an older main character, if the narration was done by someone younger sounding who didn't mention retirement the theory that it wasn't the protagonist speaking in the trailer would be non existent.
