Some models have been re-used but the majority is being created from scratch. They say it will use new animations as well so it won't be like playing War inc.

Yeah well, i don't find slow mindless zombies fun at all, i find them pointlessly boring, being able to simply walk away from a shambling mess doesn't appeal to me, even in large numbers, these zombies are simply pathetic. I prefer fast zombies, as slow zombies don't give me the sense of danger, panic i want in a zombie game. But i have been doing some reading on the official site / forum and turns out zombies move "slightly slower than player" and if you have enough patience and stamina you'll "be able to out run them eventually" which i can live with. They also said they had different speeds, zombies who crawl, zombies who walk and zombies who try to sprint but fail. (i presume these are the zombies slightly slower than player)

But yeah, game sounds sick.

The alpha footage is pretty impressive and I look forward to seeing more when the beta drops in Autumn. I like the slow zombies to be honest as I feel it gives the game more of an atmosphere. Slow zombies cab sneak up on you so you will be constantly paranoid. Two issue I do have though, the zombies don't seem to react to light or sound that well. Despite that though, I am excited for this game.

See i would love slow zombies if they were like the ones in the walking dead comics. While you're walking you're passing them without even knowing, but they follow you. Imagine stopping for supplies when you see a horde of zombies approaching that have been following without your knowing.

The game actually is going to turn out better graphically then I imagined, I guess.

That's what I like about those kinda zombies too. Less "all up in my grill" running zombies, more "stalk a motherf*cker" slow zombies. Provides a much more creepy environment and makes them appear less human.

Yeah but what do you need to achieve fun, maybe some challenge? If this game is based around survival you probably wouldn't want to waste all your ammo on a crowd of zomberds.

I would want slow zombies, just hope they don't use it like you said, where all you do is stand somewhere and shoot them.

I have a "Mobile Intel® 4 Series Express Chipset Family" graphics card and 2GB Ram, will I be able to play this game? whatsthat.gif

I think there is a demo version that allows you to play for 5 ingame days, Might be an idea to download that and see for yourself.

Still needs some TLC and the gun moving while running animation needs to be edited. Other than that looks pretty fun although it would be cool if they improved the texture quality and brang in DX11.

Oh, I definitely agree that it's not polished at all! Honestly though, when I see this game I'm just comparing it against the Day Z mod. The concept alone is enough to justify my excitement, so I tend to see past the few audible and graphical bugs present in the current War Z alpha version.

If all they've got to fix is some audio and strange animations/graphics, then I'd say they're doing pretty well. They've nailed the concept, and that's all I really care about for the moment. smile.gif

I don't understand. I thought the whole thing about this was that a studio looked at DayZ and said "let's release a more polished version of this" (and don't feed me that bullsh*t about "well we were working on it before DayZ!" because it doesn't take very much research to realize that's 100% false), but when I look at these alpha stage videos, all I'm seeing is a game that's less polished than DayZ is. And that's quite a f*cking accomplishment, because DayZ is a seriously flawed mod in various areas.

I'm sorry, but this looks absolutely terrible. I haven't even gotten into the elements like the unnecessary tactical bullsh*t, or the elements that are directly copied from other games (the weapon customization screen is a carbon copy of Crysis, it is not even slightly different).
