Look very interesting however "DayZ clone!" you may shout, well it's been in development before DayZ was announced. They were originally going to have a quest system which unlocks parts of the map as you progress but the dev team looked at reaction to DayZ and decided to scrap it. The game will have dedicated servers which will host up to 250 people and will feature one map at launch called "Colorado". Other maps such will be added in later on free of charge just like updates.

Important notes:
No subscription (one off payment)
Two modes: normal and hardcore
Gun control feels like Battlefield
Releases this Fall
Will have realistic weapon damage

Update
Is said to be like Minecraft where you can purchase it in early beta and then get the game at release for free.

"If your computer has at least 2GB of RAM, has video card that supports Shader Model 3.0 - then you should be able to play The War Z". This is good as it means it's more accessable to people with lower spec machines. Looking at the screen shots the graphics look like something between L4D and Arma II. I love the rich colours in some of the photos and graphically it looks quite pleasing.

I'm all for this genre of games to expand, Some features of dayz are satisfying. But there is room for improvement, i have looked into this game and they obviously had a vision for it. The thing i don't like at the moment is when they saw what DayZ was like they changed the Map to free-roam, instead of unlocked as you go along and not to mention the blatant attempt to coin in on the Z, I will carry on following it but iv'e got a bad feeling that this is going to be one of these mediocre cash grab titles! while pretending to be something it is not!

The DayZ excitement has kind of worn off on me as I haven't touched it in nearly a month. I'll happily give this game a go, however.

Don't go f*cking using CoD styled lame and overly customised weapons. Especially when it doesn't make any f*cking sense.

Things like that really break the atmosphere for me. Keep it basic and especially make it look that people had to "make do" with what they have/could scrape together quickly. Magazines taped to eachother... Not some excessive ammounts of attachements and double drums... sights or what the hell.

Technically, if there were looking to go the realistic route, zombies wouldn't exist in the first place.

Some models have been re-used but the majority is being created from scratch. They say it will use new animations as well so it won't be like playing War inc.
