I voted "no" because i feel no matter how great GTA V, VI, VII, VIII etc will be, you can never put to rest the nostalgia, memories, and awesomeness of the past GTA games. Don't get me wrong, i expect V to be epic and perhaps the game that will define this generation of consoles, but still, you can't put to rest the joy I had playing the past GTA games. Heck, my favorite GTA is still Vice City simply because im a sucker for the 80's culture. I can understand those that feel differently, that's just how "I" feel about it.

now thats rediculuos reasoning... bored.gif you imply that anyone who dislikes Vice City is for the reason of it being set in 80's? pfft...let me fix it for you...i don't know about others but the reason i like it less than other GTA games of "III" era is because the city was tiny and i didn't like map layout in general, i didn't like also that graphics almost didn't advance since GTAIII, i expected revolution with release of GTA VC, but i got GTAIII in 80's...thats the reason...i'm all 80's kid myself, but that comparasion is rediculous... turn.gif

What are you on??? suicidal.gif suicidal.gif suicidal.gif suicidal.gif Way to put a twist on things bro lol

He s a known troll, don't worry.

Yeah thought so, dude was on about something else lol.gif

San Andreas will last forever, as with anything, be it a movie, a game or an album, if it's good enough or revolutionary it will stand up to time and give it the bird.

The in-fighting amongst GTA fans at times is silly... but natural all the same. You have a connection with something and it's easy to become defensive.

There will be many more games in future that will have similar effect.. You don't realize it at the time though.

RDR for me, gave me the same feeling i had when SA came out, for instance. Personally i think FIVE will usher in a new era and will have the desired effect SA had.. History tells you that.

I've not even play five yet (obviously lol) but already am looking to 4th gen loz.. that's just what i do, if i wasn't windmill developer I'd probably have been a game designer. wink.gif

I think folk need to just appreciate things for what they are and respect what people think of any particular game, because at the end of the day we get games at differing stages of our lives and for some folk these games become a part of them deep inside if you know what i mean.

The reason SA was so much fun and such a good game is because it was the first GTA game to add in things like planes, level systems, massive world, multipul towns etc.. At that time, we wouldnt expect the shear ammount of features in a game, making it a fun and addictive game. If we go into GTA V expecting the moon, we will be dissapointed. It was the fact that SAs expectations were not as high that will make SA still a better game after GTA V is released. Just look at what happened to Call Of Duty.

LOL I know you can't bear to have anything bad said about your beloved GTA IV, but relax bro for real. I know and fully understand that the major criticisms from many people aimed at IV's seemingly controversial 10/10 scores are largely subjective. I'm not saying that the reviewers who gave IV it's 10/10 scores were completely wrong - you are actually right, they were only expressing their opinions in line with what they were reviewing. Whether they were wrong or right for giving IV those scores is not really the issue here - the bottom line is that in reality, many people just did not believe that IV deserved a 10/10 score, and that was the message I was trying to get across to that guy earlier.

I actually do feel some GTA games deserve 10 out of 10. But for me, GTA IV definitely was not one of them. I think both Vice City and San Andreas deserved a 10/10 if such a score was ever going to be given. For their time, VC and SA were such incredible games that really set the bar for future GTA games.

It's not that I can't bear any criticism against GTA IV. I mean if I couldn't handle it I'd probably go insane lol.

All I'm saying is review scores are very, very subjective to say the least. To me 10/10 represents perfection and no game is perfect. Even when VC and SA were new they were always knocking on the door, but never got quite there.

Realistically anything above an 8.5 is a pretty good score IMO. I don't feel any GTA deserves a 10/10.

I think some games deserve a 10/10. They don't have to be perfect in every way to gain such a perfect score. If a game has many strengths that excel in so many areas, it is possible that the pros and can far outweigh the cons so much, enough to get a perfect score.

I would say Vice City deserved a 10/10 because of the overwhelmingly, amazing gaming experience it gave me when I first played it. VC really was an incredible, stunning game for it's time. GTA III really impressed me to begin with, but VC just took GTA to that next level, the kind that gave me such, precious memorable experiences. I remember just soaking up the whole sunny, tropical atmosphere, riding around a beautiful city on a scooter and motorbike, seeing the neon lights on Ocean Beach Drive at nighttime, the luxury, stylish Starfish Island mansions, people skating and on the beach, it was all so captivating. The gameplay in addition just stunned me with it's sheer brilliance of themes and ideas - Hispanic drug trafficking cartels, Mafia rackets, buying properties, buying business and owning them to generate income, building up your own crime organization and business empire, gang wars, store and bank robberies, playing as a ruthless Mafioso character - I could go on and on. VC just so much great things about it, that whatever flaws it had were negligible enough to be overlooked and give it a 10/10.

San Andreas deserved a 10/10 in my eyes because it was pretty much everything VC was, except that it was mostly based on LA and California and that it's map was 5 times a big VC's. SA was just incredible and amazing on so many levels. The huge size and content of the game was more than enough to make a open-world gamer's dreams come true. The sprawling countryside and wilderness and the fact that there 3 different cities alone to explore meant that SA was more than halfway towards a 10/10 score in my eyes. The whole essence and vibe of African-American street gang culture and urban life was brilliantly captured to round it of the all-round excellence of SA. And newer stuff like the ability to do-drive by shootings, roll around with gang members on a respect level, gang wars to claim territory, burglaries, the weightlifting, tattoos, haircuts, etc - so much more was added to what greatness VC had already brought to the table. I would not argue against SA getting a 10/10.

I cannot say that GTA IV brought me anything special like what VC and SA brought to me. Don't get me wrong, I had great experiences with it, and it was memorable. But it just failed to bring me that 'magic' that would make me look back and say what a great game it was. Apart from a fresh, new storyline and protagonist, amazing new, HD graphics, more advanced animations and physics, IV just did not really bring anything new to the table that would have very much have impressed me. I did really like the whole internet thing though. Other than that, IV was just a very good GTA game rather than a classic, excellent one that deserved a 10/10.

Red Redemption deserved a 10/10 I think too.

I agree, some games can and should be regarded as a ten. RDR was simply a masterpiece and is a 10/10 no questions asked imho.

There's not many i would give a ten too tbh.. Zelda: Links awakening would probs be another. I certainly don't buy into the suggestion a game can't be a ten. That would be like giving an athlete 9.5 always, because he/she may have room for improvement. It's untenable.
