We all know that GTA 4 had two story lines. The first was:
1) About Niko's past, his friends from the navy and the traitor, Darko Brevic, who killed his friends.
2) Helping Roman out from all the troubles caused by Dimitri Rascalov and paying back to Pegorino about what he did with Niko and his friends.

Both of them were quite good and they interconnected many times like Bernie had trouble with Dimitri, Dimitri making friends with Mr. Bulgarin who is Niko's old enemy, Roman coming into both of the stories as the supporting character, etc. So, what was your favorite storyline? In whole, GTA 4 had a mixture and the best story ever. smile.gif

The first time I played GTA4, I could feel Niko's anger, confusion and other mixed feelings through the game during/after the Darko mission. His voice actor conveyed these emotions perfectly imo.

All of Niko's rage and hatred towards the things that Darko had done back in his days in Europe began to reflect through me, even more so as I progressed through the story. You get to understand Niko's intentions for coming to America and wanting to escape the horrors he witnessed back during his war days and eventually, you feel like you're in Niko's shoes as you try to find out the truth about what really happened back then.

As for Pegorino and Dimitri, they were decent endings. I always felt Pegorino's actions at Roman's wedding were very premeditated. It just sort of happened and it all didn't make too much sense at the time. It was all a bit confusing, but interesting nonetheless. Dimitri's, who's cutthroat relationship with Niko was well-scripted, death was exactly the retribution Niko was looking for and, honestly, couldn't have been done any better (regardless if it was at the Platypus or the Statue of Happiness).

Darko's storyline ultimately felt bigger than the Dmitri/Pegorino story.
