As I stated in topic title I got one question regarding all these walkthroughs that are spawning moslty in IV and VC sections. Everything has started when ZoomZoom made his "The Sunshine Autos Ultimate Walkthrough". http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=516351 Game is already 10 years old, almost everybody and his mother completed it countless times, but forums lacked such a walktrough and maybe there is this one player who doesn't know how to complete it yet. ZoomZoom also got blessing from Spuds, so I guess it's okay. But ZoomZoom and Th3MaN1 smelled some kind of way to earned more attention, respect and God knows what and started making another guides to things that were already covered many times. Th3MaN1 made his GTA Vice City Weapons Guide: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=518773It's nice and sh*t, but in fact this is atleast third walkthrough covering exactly the same topic. We got one VC weapons guide made by saintdave http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtop...dpost&p=3090163 which is part of pinned "Guides and Walkthroughs" topic and we got second official one of one of the GTANET pages right here: http://www.gtavice.com/weapons/This game stays exactly the same for 10 years, and since old guides are covering the topic completely and properly, do we really need new guide, which repeat old information for another time. Finding old guides will take only few seconds. Similar situation is happening with ZoomZoom's "GTA IV Stevie's Car Theft Walkthrough" that can be found here: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtop...entry1061537478The very same information can be also found on GTA4.NET page right here: http://www.gta4.net/stevies-text-message-car-thefts/ and on interactive map, which is also part of the forums: http://www.gta4.net/map/?lat=5.07568359375...125&z=5&c=theft along with detailed location, picture and payout. Admins and Mods care about not spamming up by repeating old topics and using search instead. What different name could you find for these guides, because in my opinion they are simply spamming up the forums, especially if old guide is easily available and covers the topic in proper way. I reported these guides, but nothing happened, so I decided to ask at the higher command. Thank you in advance for answer. This post has been edited by Tycek on Wednesday, Aug 1 2012, 14:45

It's not like they're breaking rules. They're making helpful guides. There's nothing wrong with being helpful, which is what they're doing. Even if the game is 10 years old, it may be helpful to some people who are replaying it, as you said. To be honest, I'm replaying GTA III, GTA VC, and the GTA's now, as I'm sure many others are too. You can't punish someone for helping an old lady across the street, so wouldn't that apply here for making useful topics? That's the way I see it.

It still may make more options for people. Some may like ZoomZoom's better, and someone may like the other guy's better. It's all a matter of opinion.
If it's going to be exactly the same, then I agree, he shouldn't make a guide. If it's going to be different to an extent, then I wouldn't see any harm. It will give people more of a choice. Some people may be more visual, so they may like one with more maps and pictures. Some people may like written directions, etc...
I myself like some guides/tutorials better than others, that cover the same thing. That's why I'm trying to get at.

Same with this. A new 11 year old user, Master of San Andreas, is trying to make a side mission guide. They should at least have to know the correct HTML tags before attempting it.
No offence to him, but it looks terrible with heaps of unused coding tags all over the page...

If someone cleans that one up, then it'll be better. | I agree, if someone could just clean it up a tiny bit (grammar-wise) and then let him pretty it up, once he knows the HTML tags, it should be fine.
That's why ZoomZooms are actually good, because he knows how to correctly format a new thread and he can code it with ease.

Actually, Tycek thats on gta4.net a part of GTAF. But NOT on GTAF. There are a lot of guides which are on GTA.net and on the forum too. According to you, if there is anything in gta.net then no need on GTAF, then there will be no guides on GTAF just gameplay, mission helps and chain games and other stuff. @Dr. John13: Thanks for appreciating my work.

You will be blown after reading this. Even I am 12-13 years. I don't want to go off topic so, I love reading others own made guide which has some point. ZoomZoom's work was great and nobody has problems with it. It doesn't means that if MOD is cool, then we cool. Even we are humans and we have our own points which are maybe right right or maybe wrong but nobody knows who should decide. That's why we have MODS, nothing much. | I Know that thread! i love it!
