Hello all, I am new to forums and computer games in general. I have recently downloaded a mod named Full conversion San andreas 2.0 by patbreu. It is a great mod however, I do not like the explosions at all. I have tried downloading other peoples explosion mods and have followed the installation instructions only to find the explosions stay the same no matter what I do. So I was hoping someone could tell me how to add some new explosion effects in my game and give detailed instructions. Thank you for your time.

Simply copy/paste the mod's files into GTA SA/models folder.

your effect files are bigger than the original ones

these are the originals:
models\effects.fxp - 0,603MB
models\effectsPC.txd - 0,398MB
models\particle.txd - 0,636MB
did you made a backup of the game before you installed the mod?

how big is your gta3.img?
should be
models\gta3.img = 918.032MB if you have GTASAv.1.0

Windows 7
i have xp but i read moretimes reports from users that win7 have a backupsystem which which runs the backup files because of modifications
it could also be possible that win7 makes a backup of a modified game installation
read about win7 shadowcopy at http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/16610...ies-delete.html

My gta3.img is 1,18 GB.
I did backup the original game before installing the mod and I tried replacing the mentioned files with no success.
I will read up on the win7 shodow copy and let you know if it works for me.
Are there any files in the gta3.img that are for explosions? If so could I just change those if anyone have new ones available for download?

Edit: The shadow copy deletion did not work for me.
I discovered when using software called gamebooster it fixed the explosions to look like the original explosions. Would that mean that there is some process that is running in the background that causes the explosions to look terrible? I only used this software once and won't anymore because it makes SAAC not work properly.

The explosion data is inside models\effects.fxp and use textures of effectsPC.txd
delete your current effects.fxp and effectsPC.txd
and copy these files of your backup which must have these filesize
models\effects.fxp - 0,603MB
models\effectsPC.txd - 0,398MB
into the game directory

I have already tried to replace the mentioned files. However, I resolved the problem so I no longer require assitance.
Thank you for your help.
