Mods are pretty much only hosted if it's a massive community project with a big team. Something with 5, 6, even 7 people, and especially where the mod leader approves new members, is an individual mod. On the other hand, a community project like Myriad where there were lots of people involved and anybody could submit content (you just had to reserve a lot) are community mods and as such are officially hosted.

IV:SA's simply a conversion, as far as I know though. | Yeah but they had put their blood and sweat together to get it successful. As far as I know, I think Hosted Mods are for those sections where Mods like DYOM, GTA:SOL, etc. need a specific forum for themselves so that everyone can post their doubts, feedback and suggestions separately.

Yeah but they had put their blood and sweat together to get it successful. | I'd like to think everybody who makes a mod does that. The difference is that theirs is a closed team where each member must be approved to join, and a mod is not running it.
