[CROUCH17597]

Hi guys,
I REALLY need help here.
So, ive had gta 4 for around 2 months on my relatively new pc. The games been running fine on 60 fps with icenhancer 2.0 and around 30 imported cars no problems. The day before last i launched the game and it was running at around 2 fps consistently. I decided to reinstall the game as it is rather heavily modded. I patched it to 1.0.0.4 expecting it to run as it used to, but no. 5 fps this time. i assumed that maybe when i updtaed my gpu drivers it messed something up so i downgraded to the previous version: 301.42 -> 301.24 nVidia drivers. I reinstalled the game but im still getting 5 fps. i really dont know whats happened here and would really appreciate some help. Heres a dxdiag to help you guys out:

How do other games run?

I have the same problem with skyrim and fifa but havent tried to fix them yet. Battlefield 3 has low fps for the first time i launch it but if i restart the game its fine. San Andreas is fine as is EFLC and the witcher 2.

If EFLC is fine, then that is odd. How is GTA 4 with patch 1.0.7.0?

Thanks that seems to have worked. I get around 30 fps during the day and 40 at night. the only thing is that some mods arent compatible with 1.0.0.7 but thanks anyway.

as soon as i installed icenhancer i got 3 fps again. oh well, i guess my pc cant handle it.

If it ran correctly before (as it should on that GPU) it should run correctly again. AFAIK ENB isn't very compatible with patch 7.
Have you installed any new software in the past few days?

The only things ive added is origin for bf3, and i updated the drivers. i really cant think of what else ive installed recently.

If you updated the GPU drivers, did you a clean installation? Usually, installing over old drivers is not the good way to go.

no i did uninstall my old drivers first. btw ive installed gta sa recently aswell. could that have caused any problems?

All these mods are buggy to some extent. IMO it is best to just leave it as rockstar intended. There may be some other issue though, like faulty ram. Make a boot cd with memtest86 and check for errors.

Have you installed the latest patch i.e. Patch 1.1.2.0

This is actually weird one that your GTA 4 lags and EFLC doesn't. Maybe you were using it for a quite a long time and you did some tweaks like Contig or Visual IV. In that case, do the same for GTA 4. Also apply Patch 4 which gives more FPS. WARNING!: Don't apply it if you have already applied Patch 7 or ENB. Do a clean re-installation and patch the game.

ENB Mods aren't very much good with High Settings so you may want to lower the settings and try again. In that case, delete your game settings.

the thing that i find most strange is the fact that all of my games were working fine and now all of a sudden they all lag. I think ill try removing all that lag off my system completely onto my external hard drive and installing them all again. Ill also remove every mod for them and see if it helps. As far as i know, none of the mods came with viruses as i did a scan with AVG. Also with my GPU, i wouldnt expect any of my games to lag, at least not that much, especially san andreas. Finally, GTA 4 on 1.0.4.0 lags even though its a clean installation. I really dont know whats happened. Thanks everyone for you suggestions thus far.

SA? You are talking about that game? It can even run like a charm in Pentium.
If you have done a re-installation, check my tips/tweaks regarding FPS. Hope they help.
