sorry if my post wrong place..
so,,why much opinion on websites that explain about gta 4 is bad ?
i also found on youtube there many videos with title "gta 4 s*ck".
and i see some comments there many talk about gta 4 is s*ck"
whether gta 4 realy bad ?

but in my opinion,,gta 4 is better than gta sa.

GTA IV is bad for people with weak rigs.
But for people than can RUN GTA IV, it's the best game, like me, with all graphic mods like, ENB, iCEnhancer, RealizmIV, Trees Mod, etc.. It owns all games!!

Vanilla GTA4 was hit and miss for me, but it was Rockstar's first HD game port so that's to be taken into account.
Gta 4 only brought in a few features and lost many such as;
The need to eat
Planes, we all know the engine was capable of having them. I'm betting rockstar's real reason behind the lack of planes is because of 9/11.
Player stats: stamina, max health, sex appeal, etc.
The ability to buy property.
Map size
Car mod shop
and so many more.

So many features were taken away that it sort of felt like half of a game to me, but the story was great and the few added features are great.
GTA4 is good in it's own way, primarily through mods.
Now that R* knows what they're doing, I'm willing to bet that GTA5 will be better than SA.

I would suggest upgrading your PC (or building a new rig, it's not that expensive these days). R* recommends at least 4Gb of ram, and it would help to know what type of processor you have.

Its OK but not GREAT as people say. The only reason people keep saying its the best is because they love the graphics and engine. Those dont make a game awesome. Story does. And for me, my fave gta story was GTA SA.And i can run GTA IV just fine. Ive got a ps3.

Bullsh*t. PPL hate GTA for poor optimization, I've got good comp specs. I was runnning it 44fps on nearly max and after patches it is running 30 fps in medium. WHATAf*ckINJOKE!

I love all GTAs,don't get me wrong.IV has a great multiplayer.

But the game leaves a lot to be desired.

First,the pc optimization was the worst I have ever seen.I can run it,but I should have been able to run it much smoother.
Second,they set the bar up high with SA and never reached it again
Third,after the story ends it is boring.I'm not sure why,but SA,I played it for 8 years and didn't got bored.It has the military,which is always challenging to fight,many minigames,car tuning,house buying...
Fourth,IV is not challenging.No matter what,IV is a piece of cake.Shoot in the head,insta-kill.Shoot in the foot,they go around dancing and either fall of something and die,or get too vulnerable to be headshotted.
Fifth,It could all be forgiven if it had planes,since that is the best part of SA for me...Planes and the physics.

So,those are the problems.Since IV was kind of a ''test'' for GTAs using RAGE,I hope V fixes my points.

Personally I find GTA IV's story to be like an acclaimed novel while SA's is like one of those $2 children's books you read to a child at night.

I enjoyed GTA IV a lot. The storyline hit me like thunder with the way life was for Niko in America. Personally, I thought features from GTA SA(like the gym etc) were going to be in IV, even though they weren't, it was still fun.
From the looks of the V trailer those features are returning anyway.

I didn't hate GTA IV, there were a couple dodgy things like the pedestrians overtaking at a red light, pedestrians that you run past or almost run into drop there belongings but don't pick them back up. Overall, nothing major in my opinion.

I just can't understand a word here...

You can buy it from a retail shop or from online stores like Amazon, etc. You can download from Steam also (Though, I recommend you retail even if Steam is less costly). 100$? You can buy a pack of GTA Series with 100$. Here, it is 10$ (500INR). Maybe it's the same in your place.

The FPS depends upon your PC Specs. Whether you have a good PC or not. If you want people from PC Performance Section to take rest from all the helping while you will require when you play the game for first time, buy GTA 4 for PS3 or XBOX.

As for this topic, I don't think it's worst game. My list goes like this:

1) GTA III
2) GTA IV
3) GTA SA
4) GTA VC
5) GTA CTW

Miamivicity knows well why I like GTA III. But, IMO, GTA 4 really looks like 21s Century game. The removal of Stick figures was the best thing which R* did. I like GTA 4 well and it's it's quite addictive too.

Well, first of all there's the PC port problem.

It's one of the less optimized game ports of all time and lots of guys (myself included) had a hard time trying to make it run.

Also, the game was met with some crazy, impossible to fulfil expectations. People were expecting SA V2, with tons of features and sub-missions and stuff. Which the game didn't have, of course. It didn't matter if IV created a whole lot of new content in different areas (like TV channels and internet and stand-ups), because many guys were expecting more of the same with better graphics.

Last, but not least, GTA story-mode made a huge shift to a more serious, deeper and grounded to earth storyline. But, at the same time it was "Less fun" for some guys. It's not even a rag-to-riches story like in SA, so it doesn't make you feel good when it's all over. And that pissed off some folks.

I didn't understand it too! I've entered this forum to read more about GTA IV and I've only seen people talking it was bad! So when I bought it, I was with low expectations, but I LOVED the game!! GTA III is still the best for me, but my 2nd favorite is GTA IV! About low optimization... I am used to run games in low FPS since forever

when i first played GTA i was a bit angry against R* because of the poor optimization . but if you know where the problem comes from , you slowly become more and more tolerant for finally totally love the game . the low fps of the vanilla game comes from the extreme level of details . for having played a lot flight simulations i know that the more detailled the scene is , the more laggy the gaming will be . so i removed lot of stuff everything that was redundant or gave that city an aspect of a perpetually agonizing city . and now that i have a smooth game (with absolutly no realism loss) i can say that GTA IV is one of the best games i ever played . and if GTA isn't optimized when you first play it , the game is extremely well optimized for modding . GTA IV is a fantastic game that for me should have its place beside the Super Mario or other Zelda
